Combine those charts to see this: In 2008 while Bush was president, the economy melted. Obama was elected and finally got the stimulus package passed in early 2009 and the economy stabilized and continued growth that was continued under Trump. Mitch and Paul Ryan (Boner before him) stalled out all they could to slow the Obama recovery, things like cutting the stimulus package in half. Things that would have went to fixing bridges, and dam's that would be real infrastructure investments. But the Republicans were determined to shut down everything Obama tried to do after 2010 when the Tea Party madness started.

Yeah, the economy sucked. It was so easy to find a house for cheap and there was plenty of boat slips to park a boat in. Now my house value has gone up almost 100k and I had to wait 2 months to find a slip to put my boat in after I had a transmission repaired. I've never seen so many people spending money as I have in the last 2 years

Your crazy man. Under Obama everything sucked. Entire towns folded up and construction ended. Housing cost dropped and new homes stopped being built. Not sure what state your in but bilusiness were suffering under Obama. I would always see new business folded up after a few months.

I would argue that the 4th and 5th houses that all the people where buying and flipping for tens of thousands of dollars creating the bubble because shadow banking industry started making all their crazy NINJA loans and giving everyone as much credit to buy houses as they could.
Using laws in place that forced Fannie and Freddie to absorb the junk loans that they were selling.
