I LOVE AUTOFLOWERS

So I'm on my second grow.

I gave it my first go with a couple of black gum photo period plants and enjoyed the experience. I got some reasonable size plants that produced some banging smoke. I also had a free autoflowering seed from the supplier and threw that into the tent whilst the photos were flowering just to see what would happen (it was in a tiny cup).

Holy smokes...ok so the plant was small, but sweet jesus those buds where big. From a 10-15cm high plant with one cola I got 7 gran! Tight and frosty buds but not much smell mind. Anyway.
That was enough to turn me. The sheer ease of autos blew me away and about 49 days ago I planted two more girls. An LSD25 and Lemon Zkittles (autos of course).

Throughout it has been a pleasure. The zkittles was the sickest plant I had ever seen germed. Twisted, holey leaves. Limp stem. Slow growth, but man did she bounce back! Shes now the biggest and smelliest with some great bud production! Looking forward to trying her.

The lsd on the other hand had fast, impressive growth from the get go. Has many main colas and has taken a beating from defoliation because I shit you not...I COULD HAVE HIDDEN IN THAT BUSH AND YOU WOULDNT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SEE ME. It was necessary.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on how they are doing. I'd also like to get some tips if you notice I am doing anything wrong and lastly, was going to ask if perhaps you guys could diagnose the lsd.

As you can see the buds are long and spindly. Good internodal spacing but they dont seem to be filling out the same as the zkittles. I know I know, different strains. But the zkittles is ahead of the breeders estimations and the lsd was supposed to be finished within the next 2 weeks but I would say from the look of it, more like 4....?
It needs to go through that bulk and mature still where as the zkittles is well on with bulking itself and I could imagine it maturing and for the trichomes to begin changing soon. Thoughts?

Setup -

300w led blurple
200w CFL booster over lsd because so bushy (I know it should be hung other way)
Autopot system
Remo nutrients (recently burned plants slightly as can be seen on tips - put some ph plain water in the res today to dilute the nutes)
18on/6off

It's hard to say... The cfl isn't your best choice for big full buds, plus autos are sensitive sometimes to too much training. It could be in shock from the massive defoliation. It could be using the energy that it was going to use for flowering... To bounce back from the defoliation. Your yield could possibly suffer...

Hi thanks for the reply.

The cfl is just as booster lighting so the smaller popcorn buds have some merit at least. It was hung so, so that I could see how my new led could perform being the new main lamp. (Sort of as an experiment but the lsd needed it)

I agree with the defoliation shock. But wouldnt that mean struggling buds? It's making me rethink growing indica plants- same problems with my bushy back gum. All in all it's all experience. I'll be sure to post the results either way so stay tuned :)

Well some plants react differently. I am just giving a couple of ideas... Heck, it could just be that phenotype.... I had 1 auto this year that the buds never filled out at all...

Worst comes to worst I turn her into butter. I will find a purpose for her haha. Let's just hope she bounces back.

Sativa Haze Auto About 10 days old from popping through the coco/perlite, i may have added the coco a&b nutes in the water and diluted it about 80% when i first planted the seed into the final pot. After i have given it nothing but Poland Spring water. I feel like it’s suppsed to be bigger, i added myco to the roots but i dug out half of one side and powdered some in and covered it back up. The next set of leaves are coming in but i have another seedling in happy frog the next set has grown in already a bit more, but is still about the same size. Does anyone think i messed up or am i good i just tried adding 1/4 nutes to the one in coco. I have a total of 3 planted, two in coco/perlite 1 in happy frog, the coco and happy frog are the same strain i wanted to test out what i liked more since this is my first grow, i have a 600w LED (pulls 270w) 2x3 tent, 4in exhaust, humidifier, at 70rh, 70-80degrees. 2 fans circulating air. yea thats why I'm worried
So all i can do is tell you how i do. I use coco and those 2 pots are 6" plastic ones at that just to give you an insight. I plant my seeds directly in the final pot of coco. No soak, no scuffing of the seed, no paper towel to germ. I water my coco with 1/4 nutes and cal mag the night before i start my seed. This 1st water/feed was 2 grams Mega Crop and 2 ml cal mag per gal. Next day i plant seeds. Lights about 36" up. 3 days later they broke plain. 2 days after that they got a 2nd feed of 3 grams MC and still 2 ml cal mag. 4 days later they got a full feed of 4 grams Mega Crop and still 2 ml of cal mag and here we are. From the 1st feed and the next 3 i go every 4-5 days than i feed every day. You seem to not be feeding much at all giving small plants.

Here's exactly 2 weeks today.

I wasn’t feeding at all from what i researched i should just water for the first 3 weeks. I have them in 5gal fabric pots and maybe 75% filled with coco/perlite. I planted into final pot and used a dome for humidity. After that I’ve had trouble with Humidity being too high at times. But besides that I’m not sure what the issue. I will start feeding nutrients this week it’s only been about 10 days since first set of leaves sprouted. Thank you for your reply.

Where did you read to not feed for 3 weeks in coco? Coco has zero nutrients in it and needs to be fed often and early to have healthy plants. Also humidity domes do more harm than good unkess you live in a super dry climate. If you have high humid you shouldn't be trapping in in with a dome on top of no food. Get a small fan if too hot/humid and start feeding them regularly.

Have you ever heard of Bongify Autoflower Special Regular? I'm new to growing (actually have never grown before) but I got some freebie seeds from bongify.nl so I'm wondering if they are any good. I am planning to put them in the window this winter, is that a good idea? Or should I get some other seeds?
