Day 64 - started the flush. Planning to harvest over 3 days next weekend - we'll take down 6 mains Friday night, 9 mains on Saturday, and the final 9 on Sunday.
I fiddled with the light a bit for the final week, too... Cranked the qb18s to max, dialed the 288s down a bit - landed at about 965ppfd and 335w.

nice and clean :) do you like the initiators? I have 800 watts of growmau5 red 3000k pucks in my room but was thinking about getting those.
I do very much like red initiation - but these pucks could be better. The 4 diodes all being centered on the board is not a great design IMO.

Next light(s) I build I'm going to use the new HLG far red strips. Certainly less expensive and although they have fewer diodes the light footprint should be a little better since they are spread out better on the board.

The reality is you don't need a high ppfd of red to achieve the initiation effect, but I do think even coverage is important.

these pucks have been killer tho i have to admit :)
I gotta be honest - I definitely took a really good look at those before building my current light. The HLG 288s won because I like my diodes spread over a larger area.
I particularly like the rail system rapidLED has for building light fixtures... A set of those pucks with 2 of their red strips (and why not 2 of the exotic strips) would be freakin awesome!

My lighting nirvana would be if I could build a fixture with all of those separate spectra with a single plug and a single controller handling the scheduling for them. Some day...

BTW - whats that blue/red strip you got there?

thats a platinum p600 on veg mode, BRIGHT for a blurple. it kinda focuses the beam down and not in a wide footprint, bleaches my plants every time, so I keep it high to add blue spectrum in between my coco plants since they are already established.

Gotcha. My buddy @Or_Gro has the same spectrum meter as I do (or I guess I have the same as him since he bought it first...) - tested a KIND blurple with it. 2000+ ppfd but very spiky spectrum graph. After seeing that I was no longer surprised that I was bleaching plants with my KIND light before I got addicted to Quantum Boards.

Yep - those fall colors are coming in... they seem to be getting less thirsty now too.

Gotta do a little more yard work but then I'll snip a few bits for inspection... maybe "accidentally" snip a low bud off for a different kind of inspection...
Damn fine alert system they’ve got here....
