Mid 50s. I was doing a lot of gym daily with just toning on machines. No heavy lifting. Everything was great.

The gym was far away so I took a little time off. I have a pull up bar, captains chair, push up thingy in the garage. I never do full pullups at the gym but will do the assisted ones where 70% of my weight assists using the weights on pull up machine.

I was mainly stretch to do pull ups but with no weight at home. I was not warmed up. Really just doing stretching.

A few days later pecs hurt and then back muscles like delts and traps also hurt. Walking was even sore. I am smoking no weed etc. Even breathing was labored.

I have taken it easy and have do very gentle stretching exercises but after a month it is still sore. I tried mowing the lawn and that was rough.

Any suggestions? I have watched some doctor and physical therapy videos. I take plenty of supplements and also started back on muscle milk type of shakes mainly for amino acids in them. I had heard that guys 50 and over are prone to these types of tears. I think my situation was more a strain. Always warm up and don't make the mistake I made.

Thanks for any help.

I tore the tendons that attach the delt to the collar bone on both sides once lifting extremely heavy and had the same pain you describe. Only thing you can really do is light stretching, rest, and minimal use

Thanks. How long did it take? I am taking it easy.
About 3 weeks, if I was 20 again sure would of been a lot quicker lol I make sure to do a ton a stretching before working out now No matter what cause when I don’t a injury occurs 98% of the time.

I recommend using CBD body butter to ease the pain. I recommend AP Sleeping Indian Hemp

They make full spectrum CBD tinctures and salves for people and pets.

There is a review on their product at MJ Geeks website
