Weird Growth. Genetics maybe?

On a side note, my theory. FF soil. Only time I see it is with FF. So many posts on here using FF, twisted growth, holes, deformation, etc.

Just a theory, but it is the common denominator.

True, I do see alot of problems with FF. Especially FFOF since its pretty hot soil. I was definitely looking at promix instead of FF. To each his own I guess :cuss:. Thanks for your input monkey, you're always helping this newb out:blsmoke:

I would not use nutes in Happy Frog until deficiency starts to show. Invariably it will be nitrogen as it's the most quickly depleted. It's pretty fortified out of the bag.

I suggest Pro Mix BX. Or make your own. A cheap bale of peat moss, a bag of perlite, skip the vermiculite. Add eXtreme Gardening Mykos and a dash of dolomite lime and you are good to go. If in doubt on ratios just add more perlite. Again - skip any vermiculite.

Treat and feed like hydro.

It could be N. The plants circled are the ones giving me trouble, visually. Top left has it's second or 3rd set with a 4 leaf deformation. Bottom right is the weird growth plant. X's are the ones showing the best growth. I didn't add the nutes till about 3rd 4ish week of plant life. Feeding at 20ML Vega & 10ML Zyme. I feed about once a week . Water, feed, water.

With the EWC in the soil I would not give additional nitrogen until I saw lightening indicating a need. Nitrogen is the most quickly depleted because it's so quickly utilized .

With 50% coco how do you ph?Also was the coco pre charged?
Seems like mixing these two FF and coco is just a diluted mix. What kind of nute schedule do you use?

Coco was not pre charged. I'm going off my own schedule here since the Canna nutrient guide is weird. I PH water going in 6.3-6.4 and some runoff. Runoff being right about 6.0. Anything lower I adjust, which I haven't had to do yet.
Water going in should be 6-7 pH

If runoff pH is…

  • 6-7 pH – in the right range, no changes needed.
  • Less than 6 – provide next watering at pH 7
  • More than 7 – provide next watering at pH 6
I live by this saying haha

Is that male balls growing at the base of the leaf? I have seen this mutation where it's a female bud, I guess it could happen with a male too.

No sir just a F'd up leaf. There hasn't been signs of gender, YET. :cuss:
The growth has been putting out a cat piss/Plant matter skunk scent. Which I have found to be pretty weird. Mind you that I am a newb to cannabis growing haha

Screenshot_20190225-200418.jpg Screenshot_20190225-200537.jpgI don't like to update daily, but if you look close between the second set there is a stem like growth and it's freaking weird & awesome all at the same time. It's fascinating how these plants grow. This one is short & stout while the siblings are tall and thicc. Cheers:hump:

Oh forgot, 9 blade leaves too!
