so since we're growing mystery genetics, and no one really knows who's getting what, that means the grower gets to name it if it turns out to be something special right? I always wanted my name in a strain, kinda like the Khalifa kush! I mean shit it could turn out to be anything who knows! that's kinda exciting!
I'm stoked to see what you guys find Technically you would have to cross it with something before you named it. Naming it without crossing it is basically stealing someone else's work, slapping your name on it and calling it yours lol
There isn't any. Could be anything, That's the challenge! I'm sure during the competition that @kepster will have some comments to make about genetics and what our plants might be.

Thats one part of the comp I'm really looking forward to! If everything goes well I've been working on some lines that I'll release exclusively to rollitup for testing

I rebuilt the birdcage/jellyfish light tonight now that I have the correct plugs that fit my strips. Before, I had to solder the wires onto the tiny contacts of the strips and they kept breaking off. Now it should be more reliable than before. Still a ghetto rigged contraption built from a tomato cage, strips, and plant ties, but it grows big! This time building it, I used only 4 strips whereas before there were 6 strips. It was a pain to water the plant last competition with that many strips.

Seeing as how I am now signed up for 2 competitions at the same time, it may be necessary to build another birdcage if I can figure out where to put the damn thing. Either that or use my Mystery Meat plant in both contests... Hmmmm.
That thing does look interesting lol

So I just looked up Kepster on strainly. Can we expect the Mystery Meat to be seeds from the other 3 strains he has listed, or are these from the parents of those strains, or should we expect them to be something completely unrelated?

They could be seeds from those crosses or from a dozen other strains I've worked with over the last 2 years, it's best not to look to much into specifics or it will drive you crazy lol

I don't wanna steal anything, I just wanna name it lol, I don't breed, or even grow males for that matter, so my chances of ever being able to name a strain is pretty much non existent! don't have any intentions of stealing anything, just wanna pick a name like I said! hell if it turns out that good, I'll send cuts back for sure! but ya gotta to use the name I come up with, lmfao, still haven't thought of anything good yet tho...

I'm all about that! Most of the strains I'm most passionate about are from seeds friends have given me and in their honor Ive named the strain after them ie; Mango Spicoli ;)

No worries... when 'Republican Buttocks' blows up as the strain of 2019, I'll cut you in...

***UPDATE***

In past competitions, Picture angle and light can give someone the appearance that their plant and flowers are larger than they actually are. This can put someone else with poor picture quality at a disadvantage. To help fight this I have decided to send everyone a small 1-inch bonsai garden prop to place in the plant that they choose as their final entry out of the original 4 cups they started with. Every weekly picture after "plant elimination" is required to show the entire cup and plant with the 1-inch bonsai prop placed in the cup. Mush.jpg

Haha this is awesome! And inspired me to use some stoner innovation lol. So I made this little grid to track growth. It works better in person, the camera doesn’t get the depth right. They are one inch squares and lol ya it’s an empty pizza box lolB69C684C-BC86-493C-9EFA-84EBD92850C4.jpeg0FBBD202-F721-459E-8ACA-4F72E2F26F17.jpegA3A7CA26-CC11-4993-9F91-314030549C8E.jpeg
