Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

Well that's basically falling in-line with what we originally thought right? (We have around the same submission day). It seemed apps were moving faster for awhile but that might not have really been the case. I had 12/20 circled as the time I should be getting my card originally.

I haven't talked to a staff person at IDPH in a long time, but they were always nice. One was extremely helpful a few months ago when it looked like I might have to change my address. She went out of her way to suggest what I should do. In the end, I didn't have to change the address but she made the process easier to understand. I am going to have to do so in the future, but I am waiting till I get the card first.
Yeah! Being originally told 90 days was fine, and wouldn’t have been an anxious to call, until people were getting approved at 70 days, and then a stall!

O well, we should be very soon, I had the 13th on my calendar, being hopefully, so that still may happen!

I feel your pain! I will be calling tomorrow for sure to see if I’ve been approved, and I was the 20th. Hopefully I have been already, but as of Tuesday, I was not. So you shouldn’t be too much longer after me, so hopefully I will have some good news tomorrow afternoon!
I will check this forum tomorrow. I hope to see that your card has got accepted!

Thank you to everybody that has been participating by posting their wait times. I think that we can all agree that these sorts of updates help to afford oneself patience while waiting.

TIMELINE
Doctor's appointment:
9/26
Applied online: 9/26
IDPH Received Application: 9/26

Still no word. I was really hoping to have this card by now. It has been almost 71 days since I have applied for my card(49 business days)...
Hey there
Doctor's appointment: 9/26
Applied online: 9/26
IDPH Received Application: 9/26

I just got off of the phone with IDPH. They told me that they have ceased processing applications received until the new rules (passed on August 28th) are in place. Juan, my call-agent from the Division of Medical Cannabis, said that he doesn't expect the division to begin processing applications again until mid to late January when they have the new system set up. He said at that point, everybody that has applied on line up until that point will receive an email with something called a "provisioning license" that allows the patient to purchase cannabis for a period of up to 90 days. Once the provisioning/provisional (not sure what exactly it is called, because I have seen it spelled both ways. I am assuming it is provisioning since Juan said it on my phone call) licenses have been sent out, the Division of Medical Cannabis will begin to process applications again.

I was told that since my application was received on 9/26 that I would not receive my official card until about late January to early February!

We were so close! Since the rules were recently rewritten, it sounds like we just didn't make the cut and have to wait a bit longer. Bummer dudes--big bummer!

It was definitely originally called a provisional registration, not a provisioning license.

In regards to your comments about the Division halting the processing of applications, I was just reading that a handful of other patients were told the same thing.

Looks like we are in it for the long haul, boys. After that, the flood gates will be opened and people will receive access to their meds immediately upon applying...so good news for them I guess.

Until then, we suffer...we wait

So those who have applied and mailed in application will not get the early access???

The above info is INCORRECT! The apps they are not processing is the Opiod applications. All submitted apps, online or mail, are being processed as normal!

Also, as of yesterday or today, 9/20 apps are being processed and reviewed!!! There is hope!!!

I had to be talked off the ledge by NatureBoy, and I used the excuse to call in that I may be moving and changing my address and he said to wait, because my app is processing/under review and it doesn’t look like there are problems, so I’ll have my card in a few weeks!

Holy shit, you just made my day!

This info means that my application (9/19) has to have been processed!

Thanks for the leg work!

You may have been approved already since you were the 19th!!!
