last year was terrible for rain mold etc so this year i had a plan and its worked.
here is where i started my grow outside. behind a curved row of green beans

you might need to twist your neck to see the pics the right way round
no problems with bugs, not one, even though my beans were covered with black fly etc. i planted some french marigolds to help keep bugs at bay! the ants that fed on the flys kept my babies safe
i topped my girls to keep them low. believe it or not but they had enough sun behind the beans to make them grow without stretching
before they went into flower i took one plant out of the pot and planted it into the sunken hole at an angle, nearly lying down, partly to keep the plant low. much more sunlight found the plant this way
you can just see the plant..
now they are nearly ready. i have moved three somewhere else now with a cover over the top to keep them dry
this year my plants have been very green. i have had no yellow fan leaves either.
i have fed them with canna PK 13/14
so all in all i feel very lucky to have got this far and not one problem
