Look lovely them buddy for you first attempt, I bet you feel like me can't wait until harvest day I'm counting the days down lol! Talking about removing leaves I've had ro remove a fair few these past few weeks they are starting to crumble and go yellow i flushed for a week and backed off the nutes but still no luck! Fingers crossed they pull through to be honest I think I've overfed them with notes but hey you live and learn don't you! Good luck buddy, Ohh yeah what strain are you growing?

It's hard to tell from your pics. We are 1 day apart, mine are 3 weeks 6 days from flip you can check mine out and judge for yourself. I dont want to post them on here and derail your thread.

Ahh it's okay buddy just post them on here, Mine are now currently 6 weeks 2 days in flower from the 12/12 flip but I've been told to take 2 weeks off from the date off 12/12 flip because pistols/hairs didn't start showing until 2 weeks after flip so I'm 4 weeks 2 days Into flower, They are swelling everyday like.

From what I can tell they look well, you can see the beginning of nute burn at the very tips of her leaves, but that's pretty common and pretty easy to solve, more than likely you've already fixed the problem if it hasn't gotten any worse :) Keep on keepin' on!

Cheers for the comment buddy means a lot considering its my first grow, I've learned that if you over complicate things and over think things then things become more difficult lol About the nute burn it hasn't went away that's if it it nute burn I flushed 3 times in one week and layed off the nutrients but still no luck I'm only feeding them coco a+b no bloom additive, If anything it got worse and leaves started getting really crumbly and eventually I just nipped them off with a small pair off scissors because they were dying anyway, you see the yellow spots not on the end off the leaves but further up the leaf? Eventually half the leaf would go really crumbly you wouldn't believe the amount I've cut off, I would of uploaded a few pictures but lights went off at 12, Please keep a eye on this thread and ill upload some tomorrow buddy.

Ya I was going to say possible nute burn too but this is my first time growing so I thought I would leave it too more experienced growers. From what it sounds like though doesn't sound like nute burn. Nute burn usually effects the lower leaves first. Ya keep us updated on pics so we could maybe diagnose it. Maybe its bugs?

Hmmmm....interesting problem you have there Smithy. Luckily your plant still seems to have foilage! It is over-due time for you to start Gyour Bloom base nutrients, and I believe that this, more than likely, is where your issues are stemming from. More than likely, it is nute burn, however, it is being caused by too much nitrogen due to the veggy nutrients being applied. This would also cause the deeper hue green I'm seeing in your plant. This is just my opinion though....the cause may be something else, but even if it isn't the cause, you still need to be using bloom nutes...too much Nitrogen will really screw things up for you at this point of your grow...but it's a learning process, every lesson learned is a mistake not made in the future!! Look forward to pics buddy, have a good one.

Hey Logan, since were on the subject I'm using fox farms nutes trio and according to the fox farm feeding schedule it says to use grow big through the flowering cycle. Should I be using grow big during flowering?

I would think that you wouldnt because it's a veg nute, like you said veg nutes during flowering can screw things up.

Well, while it seems counter-intuitive, a lot of base nutrients do call for you to use the veggy nutrients during bloom. During veg, you (for example) may use 2 parts grow, 1 part bloom, whereas in bloom, you would use 1 part grow, and 2 parts bloom. Even in flowering, your plant will still require certian nutrients like nitrogen, it just requires less of it and more of phosphorous. So, base nutes like fox farm will still recommend that you use the grow during bloom, but you will use far less of it in proportion to your bloom nutes. Does that make any sense? Sorry man, smoking in the morning can make me a little bit confusing, lol.
*EDIT* I also meant to say that you've grown a monstrous plant there, good job!! You must be doing something right!

Wow monstrous, thanks for the compliment! No, what you said makes perfect sense. You still want to give them grow nutrients during flower just less of it. I've been using half the dosage on all nutes to be safe and I heard you dont really need to flush them in soil when doing that.

I'm also using the 3 part fox farm bloom nutes and it says to use those to the very end until harvest which kind of confused me because some people say to stop nutes 1 to 2 weeks before harvest. I also plan on curing it in mason jars with 62% rh humidity packs for 2 months before smoking it.

No problem at all just call'em how I see'em! It sounds like you've planned everything out pretty well, it should work great! Yes it's always best to start nutes at half the strength the bottle says, you can always bump the dosage up if needed! But it sounds like you've made a pretty good call on nutrients, keeping it simple and without a million additives. As far as flushing goes...I think it really comes down to preference. I could really argue either side of the fence there. But if it were me, personally, I would stop administering nutrients about 2 weeks before you chop down your plant. I grow in hydroponics so flush is easy and quick for me, but in soil it takes longer. I would simply stop using nutes about 2 weeks from harvest, and a day or two before you cut her down, maybe run 3 or 4 gallons of water through it to really flush out excess salts and fertilizers. But this part is totally debatable and really up to you, I've heard people claim their smoke tastes and burns just fine with no flush whatsoever, and vice versa. I think that it really comes down to the dry/cure, in regards to flavor and harshness. Drying and curing can be tough, but it sounds like you're pretty well prepared. I have used the 62% humidity packs before as well, and they work fantastic, but in my opinion these are better to be used when the bud has totally finished drying and curing, and is being put up for longer term storage to keep the buds fresher for longer. A lot of people say that if you place freshly harvested buds in a jar with these moisture packs, it can really damage the smell and flavor. Those humidity packs can be a huge life saver if you've over-dried your smoke, which is easy to do...sorry for the rambling on!! Here is a link with more info on drying/curing, it helped me a ton!

Cheers for your advice buddy some good stuff you have told me there, The reason why I didn't use bloom nutes was because i have a few pals who grow and they just use canna a+b all the way through their grow and get some good results with it to (I've seen and smoked their weed) Like you say you learn as you go, What im going to do is run the full canna range next time and print off the chart (per 2litre) I didn't realise you could do that on their website but anyway what I'm going to do is print the grow chart off on my next run and do everything properly, I just hope i can get these 2 lady's over the line first they have around 3 weeks left by my calculations, I was going to upload a few pics tonight but I got held up at work I've just got in its half 2 in the morning and lights went off for 12 lol I'll upload some in the morning:D

Wow thanks for all that good info, I bookmarked the drying and curing webpage that will really come in handy. Ya I researched months in advanced on how to start my grow and left no stone unturned. I'm sure blasting them with 5000 watts helped a bit and installing a ductless split air conditioner in the room. I plan on making it a business plus I'm disabled so I'm growing strains good for pain.

I'm curious about what you said about the humidity packs. So to cure it initially I just fill the mason jars 2/3rds the way and open them up once a day for fresh air without the humidity packs and then add them in later? Is that how you would do it?

I'm kind of split on the whole no nutrients for 2 weeks thing because if I dont give them nutes until the end they will miss out on the 3rd bloom nute which is cha ching and adds heavy resin to the buds. It's a hard call. I do have sledgehammer for flushing them though so maybe that would work a few days before harvest. I guess a lot comes down to personal choice ugh lol choices choices. Anyway thanks for all your help! I got a lot of good information.
