Hey all it’s been years since I’ve been able to grow. And I am finally able to start again and decided I want to use led.

I currently have a kindled 600w but I know there’s better out there

I am curious to see what everyone thinks the best is , for veg and flower

I was going to post this in the thread for led questions but it was closed

So tech changes fast lately, but last I heard the Samsung chips are the best going with the bridgelux being close. Quantum boards use that chip so, yeah, configuration and cost become the only variables as to why you might not go with QB's. I just built a dual 288 QB build, and even though when I started it the idea was a modular stage build, Bridlux strips were available and I bought out the 2 footers, only 16 left, because I can have a killer light that performs very well for a little cheaper. Check out the Quantum board build threads and the strip build threads here and you'll scoop all you need to know.
If you don't want to build, HLG probably still has the best bang for buck, but they are so easy to put together there really isn't a good reason not to DIY. Rapid also sells a lot of great parts.

Boards, strips and cobs, are all good. It's not just a matter of whats best, but what is best for your situation.
What size tent, inducing height?
What climate do you live in... temperature and humidity?
Looking for plug and play or willing to put together a DIY?
If you need the heat and have the room, get a CMH.

They say no budget, until you start quoting prices and they soon change the mind lol
I said no budget because I have the money to spend on the right setup and want the best money can buy that I’ll be happy with using for the next few years

Hi! If you know how to use a screwdriver you can DIY these days!!! It is so easy with all the parts you need! And since you look for the best your money can buy! We have not a lot of choice here in EUROPE so I bought all my things on Alibaba from the same seller and I never had any issue!
Have a lifted one

I was in this exact situation; after having spent the last year completely remodeling our house top to bottom, did not feel like screwing with DIY. I spent six months going back and forth on COB and QB builds and reading the mountains of threads in this sub-forum. I finally decided to go QB and went from DIY XL kits from Growerslights to Timbers DIY to finally saying F'it and just getting a finished light from Dan at Timber. Ended up with 3x 3SAML QB lamps, they are very nice and seem to be growing my new gurls well along with my older TastyLED COB bar. The final decision came down to being able to have an extremely diffuse light umbrella that I could run soft and efficient. FYI I am in a 4x8 and these lights adjust from 30W to 300W.

I went diy for the same reason...lol!!! To be able to spread the light the way I want! The first COB panels had the COB very close to each other and it was too much like an HPS to me...a good 50w COB is able to light 16"x16"(40x40cm) best option is to use it at 35w and have one over each ft2 what i have now!
The only thing I don't like in most commercial panel is that they put the light sources too close to each other! But I understand why...too many weight and too large!
I like qb's but I would love to be able to spread even more the diodes! To have a board almost the size of the tent to calculate how many diodes I need and to spread it very even to get the same intensity everywhere!!
So far 1 COB ft2 is very effective and runner soft provide you more than 1.5gpw from seed without a/c and co2 organic soil just intake outtake a fan and lots of love!
Have a lifted one and lots of good vibes from France
