Sprouting issue.

question for everyone...

I popped a few seeds in rockwool cubes. 2 came up just fine and one has germinated (taproot is out and growing) but the seed/plant has made no progression upwards to breaking out.

I removed the small piece of rockwool i covered the seedhole with and can clearly see the seed and a healthy root still growing but still havent seen progress after a couple days of leaving that off (to clarify i covered the root back up but left an exposed area above the seed to hopefully coax it with light).

Where do i go from here? The last thing i want to try would be try to bring the seed up with tweezers or something like that but im at a loss of what else to do...

Anyone experience this or have tips?

Leave it moist and leave it alone. Some just take a while to develop and emerge. Warmth can help but watch for too much and for the rw drying.

That's pretty much what I've been doing. I've been wetting the rockwool from bottom up to like halfway to hopefully encourage root to dig rather than spiral around the seed like it seemed to... i have a heating pad (terrarium style) with 2 wash rags on it then the plate that the cubes sit on

Because the taproot comes out the pointed end of seed...it was always thought that it's best to plant pointed end down.

But in reality, in nature, it's usually the larger rounded end that lands on the ground. So the taproot comes out the pointed end...but makes an abrupt 180 turn...digging itself into the ground and eventually flipping the seedpod/cotyledon end up into the air.

But if the seed is pointed down the taproot does it's 180 turn only to realize it's wrong...and then has to do another 180 turn. That's where you get a curley looking taproot...like you have in your rockwool. Eventually it should work it all out.
