Manifolding (Menorah'n) Plants in a GreenHouse

I coined the phrase Menorah, because it describes a shape that everyone knows what you're talking about.
Here's my menorah'd example. It has 3-sets of leaves on each side. It needs four sets of leaves. Then that 4th set gets topped. The originator of the "manifold" menorah recommends removing the second set of growth, if you desire (eight colas). I'm keeping my second set of branches for more colas.Rnd7.2.JPG
Then, I'm building a 2x4 wire surround, where I'll cut out holes for the branch arms, and hang yo-yo's from the wire surrounds top perimeter to hold-up the sagging colas.

The menorah'd plants will have far less vegetation, and none in the lower larfy-bud areas, hopefully eliminating some of the mold and bud-rot risks.

Last grow I used the manifold method (my avatar)
Really seen great things from it this yr I'm trying more lst to see which does better
I like LST for giant plants. I need to get into my other phone to collect pics. Topping and LST is my method for the giant girls. Last couple years I've been playing around with different training methods on sun grown plants. I've had some amazing looking test subjects GG....didn't yield like the big girls but they looked incredible.

Inspiring! The tutorial on GWEasy.com is all about tenting.Wasn't sure how it would translate in a greenhouse. Nice rack in that avatar. :) It makes sense to menorah, since the nute-flow is equally distributed.
Hmmm..actually a manifold plant isn't shaped like a menorah at all, unless you took off all of the branches and left only the bottom branches and visualized three sets of leaves on each of the two branches. I guess we're using the word "Manifold" to describe the topping procedure. Nothings easy about creating a descriptive name.

Already, I've been able to leave the menorah plants along for almost a couple of days without worrying about aphids, mites, and anything else, grasshoppers, moths, eggs, lymph's... all of those monsters that never sleep, because the plants are on a Kontos drip.

it's all waste under the best of circumstances anyway.
I don't understand what is a waste? A bud-rot plant? Most definitely, if you have a brown-rot or light bud-rot plant whose bud-smoke taste nasty and overtakes whatever relief one might expect... bud-rot buds make outstanding bubble hash. All bud-rot should become bubble hash. It's not lost product.

It's so cute when people consider B-cuts a worthwhile use of time.
Hash is basically worthless as a product in my area. It's rosin feedstock under the best of circumstances.
Some use B cuts for live resin since they have been exposed to less light, so have a fuller terp profile.
I don't have any time for extracts, I don't like them all that much (even though I have a healthy chunk of kief as head stash, I use it for cooking typically).
There's money in it, but I don't want it. Too much work or equipment to scavenge every damn trich...

For people that don't want to reek of veg. matter though, an outdoor grown 25, 73, or 90u hash is a clean buzz with no zephyr of smoke clinging to your skin and clothes, imo. I like both bud and hash, but hash better. I have a hashman kief box-stack, but kief gets stale unless pressed.

Rockwell Labs Ltd Hi Kirk, we recommend to avoid spraying once budding starts. If used appropriately prior to budding, there should be minimal need for the product at this stage of development.
•••••••••••
I got busy yesterday and didn't get back to them. If we're not spraying once budding begins, then there's always 5th week-on bud-rot and mildew to deal with. I"m still going to use Kontos and TetraSan and Cease, and Milstop during bloom until finish. All organics. Safe to spray or systemic right up to harvest!

Kontos is systemic not a spray. TeteraSan is a spray and a both sides of the leaf bug killer without spraying under the leaves. Neither does anything to prevent bud-rot or mildew/black mold. Most importantly for me, I don't want to monitor anything or deal with a bunch of leaves. I want all bugs dead at the first chomp. "This is "farmers" method more or less, and "farmer" is a Home Cheapo customer and he's a Scott, so he's thrifty. Super thrifty.

And this is why I grow my own... scary to think what people put on their plants and smoke. Especially when they are In flower.
I've personally witnessed a grower spray some SHIT basically all the way to harvest. His rotation was forbid 4f, Avid, tetrasan, and eagle 20.
All. The. Way. To harvest.

Needless to say, I was horrified. Nice guy, but laziness is a bitch. If he had been more observant, mites wouldn't have been an excuse for him to ruin his weed.

That said, proper application in veg doesn't give me the willies.

eagle 20.
Farmer mentioned eagle-20 as a "hot" product health-wise. Avid was one he suggested to use, and Forbid 4f, but I think the arsenal I have will do. The 3-In-One is especially carefree during veg. Every three days plants gets an evening blast, even on the topsoil. It's ben a long time since I've witnessed groups of aphid eggs under the leaves. This is 2018, cannabis bugs should not be a problem. The insecticides will only improve as cannabis reaches the masses, and billions of $$ are being made by mom and pops, and the roads get re-paved, and finally Californian's realize pot as their financial savior. Praise the LOAD! :peace:

Wow.... that is horrifying! It's so scary that the moment there is issues how people automatically grab poisons!
So sad

Here's the second topping to each of the two branches. In the GWeasy pics, the op suggest removing the second (middle) branch node completely. Or, if you wanted more than eight colas, then you'd leave the second node in place,Rnd7.2.JPG as I have. The first topping (above).
And then the second, leaving the second node in place. A wire surround is next. The 7-gal. sits on 20" plywood circles on 4-hard rubber casters. The 2x4" x 3'h wire mesh is nailed at 4 or 6 places around the perimeter, and soft-wire is used as twist-ties to close the cage ends. Wire-snip sections to suit your LST methods. I got started late w/ LST. I'm hanging yo-yo's from the cage's top rail as branch/cola support. The plants get topped one more time, 3rd node down, same as the others. Rnd7.2_01.JPG
