Sanders hasn't.

In Colorado, a bill thatwould have ensured universal healthcare in that state failed by 80% of the vote. As tty complained, "they told us how much it would cost".

It would much better for them to explain/break down the benefits of what such system would offer the everyday joe.. They can't just expect ppl to jump behind an idea with no info

I wouldn't have an issue supporting a medical program which offers top quality treatment for my fellow citizen. I'm strongly against someone being left to die or ill due to insurance issues.
I've been helping my Mom who pretty much is helpless when it comes to health care choices. Medicare requires supplemental insurance, which costs about 60 bucks a month or some out of pocket payment for heath care treatment. It's a good deal for my mom and I'd be OK if I were on that plan too. Nobody should be left out or financially ruined by a health care crisis.

100% agree, our dollars should be put to use to for very important programs like health care.

Mom's AARP supplemental plan is $122/mo. but she never pays an out-of-pocket as far as I can tell. She is also on a separate prescription plan which ran ~$860 for this year

Biden would have mopped up 2016 i believe. I love Joe... I'm unsure yet though if he is right for 2020... He may be the perfect candidate, he may not be...

I think he makes practical sense, he knows how gov't works and has great relationships accross the globe... We are going to need that to repair the old ship after this shit storm...

I'm very progressive but I'm not pulling for Warren, her actions are inspiring but she is not an inspiring speaker, and that is going to be critical. We need someone who can reach into the hearts of everyday Americans and wake them up that we are better than this.

Joe with Kamala as VP?

I like Adam Schiffs cool calm but pointed style... However I don't feel he could do it, hes too tied to the investigation not broad politics...

Yeah she should never pay out of pocket. Medicare covers 80% and the supplement plan should carry the rest. Her meds package needs to be looked at, because it appears that your mother is paying about 71 bucks per month for her meds. You can pay 26 per month and get zero cost on tier 1 and 2 drugs and about 3 bucks for tier 3,4, and 5. I would look in that area to save her more dough

To me, it's too early to decide. I'll decide after the debates are over. Its' going to be refreshing to actually have a debate unlike when Repubs are involved.

Biden and Warren (among others) are too old to be my first choice.

I concur that’s why I feel so unsure...

Almost one-third of registered Democratic voters back former Vice President Joe Biden for the party's 2020 presidential nomination, making him the front-runner in a new poll.

Biden is the clear leader in Harvard CAPS/Harris's June poll with support from 32 percent of Democrats polled. Hillary Clinton, the party's 2016 nominee, finished second with 18 percent of the vote, while her 2016 primary opponent, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), sits in third with 16 percent.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) was the only other candidate to poll in double digits, with 10 percent of those surveyed backing her.

So let's take a poll here at RIU.
Electing Biden would be another mistake by the party

He would very likely beat Trump, as almost anyone the Democrats put forth at this point would. But he'd be bad for populist causes, i.e. the reasons people would have voted for Biden in the first place. That could likely lead to another right wing fake populist candidate, maybe even worse than Trump. I think Biden is one of those guys who actually believes his own moderate rhetoric. We need an actual progressive. If we don't nominate one, we run the risk of a 2nd Trump term. Run another moderate? Trump wins.
