Almost one-third of registered Democratic voters back former Vice President Joe Biden for the party's 2020 presidential nomination, making him the front-runner in a new poll.

Biden is the clear leader in Harvard CAPS/Harris's June poll with support from 32 percent of Democrats polled. Hillary Clinton, the party's 2016 nominee, finished second with 18 percent of the vote, while her 2016 primary opponent, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), sits in third with 16 percent.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) was the only other candidate to poll in double digits, with 10 percent of those surveyed backing her.

I like Biden.. but same issue I have with Bernie... They are both too old. We need a younger leader.

We need someone with moral courage, dignity, honesty and a proven track record of supporting the common man/woman, and the ability of defeating Trump.
Biden is my man, and combined with Booker or Warren as VP, that should be good enough (if the USA get's it's shit together) too beat that motherfucker Trump.
He should have run in 2016.
Sanders and Clinton were just a dream.

I wouldn't make any on that list a top choice because I'm not going to discount age. In a totally open field, I'd pick Merkely. Among those mentioned in the Harvard/Harris poll, I'd pick Kamala Harris.

I like Biden.. but same issue I have with Bernie... They are both too old. We need a younger leader.

Yeah, all are too old except Booker and he's tainted by being Wall Street's congressman. I'd be happy with anybody on that list except Buck. He argues too much like Trump. It is acceptable here but I don't think offering Ted Cruz (for example) the opportunity to suck his dick for the price of 14 "bucks" is a good negotiation tactic.

I'm looking forward to seeing a stage full of progressive leaders engaging in the 2020 presidential debates. No matter who "wins" the debates, each and every one of them will come out better prepared and able to put forth a reasoned argument than Trump ever was or will be.

I like Wyden too, he's done a good job especially for seniors but I think Merkley presents a more "Presidential" image.

The regal right will use any and all means honest, dishonest, illegal, legal, fair or foul against any challenger to Trump. The worst they threw at Hillary wasn't even close to being true yet it it didn't matter to hard right wingers and enough dirt stuck to suppress Democratic voting.

Democrats can't worry about what the authoritarian, fascist, desperate right will do because the right will sink below whatever level Democrats can imagine. They have to in order to win. Democrats don't. I like the line-ups that are being proposed for the 2020 Democratic primary contest because they contain a diversity that will show us who can win in the less than liberal states.

In the primaries, each Democrat should vote for the person they think is best, not which one the racist right might be willing to vote for. That is Bernie's tactic. He's the one who deliberately distances himself from BLM and other Democratic groups that are advocating for their civil rights. Sanders "white's first" policies for example are a sell out to the uninformed white people who are going to vote for Trump anyway. I think Democrats should reject pandering to white racist-leaning people as a strategy. Long term, pandering to the racist white vote is a losing tactic because the country is gradually becoming more diverse, not less.

Bernie would be better of being in a support role/helping get people who really care about the American citizen in key positions.

As shown in Colorado and every other state that has debated the topic, only about 25% say the same if they are told the cost and that they would have to give up their private insurance. About 60 million people say they are happy with their current health care plan. Once Republicans got hold of this, it would be a loser for sure.

In Colorado, a bill thatwould have ensured universal healthcare in that state failed by 80% of the vote. As tty complained, "they told us how much it would cost".
