7 leaf fans

so my baby finally got her 7 leaf fans! My question is, what does this mean about her growth and where she’s at? I planted her beginning of April so she’s about 8 weeks old. 8 inches high and has started new growth out of her nodes. First time grower so any and all advice would be lovely!

Sounds like your off to a good start for a 1st grow. 7 blades at 8 weeks can be normal. Some strains will have 5 blades some will have 7 or more. It really doesn't tell us much. Pictures along with what lights and medium you are using would tell us a lot about the plant.
Happy Growing!

She gets natural sun light. Planted in MG potting mix from germ. Also a storm broke one of her fan leaves, should I trim it off?
Great looking plant for your 1st grow. If it was me I would not cut it off, others might choose to cut it.
Some growers use MG successfully. Most prefer to upgrade their soil choice to something like fox farm ocean forest or FF Happy Frog. MG with the extended feed will be hard to flower a plant in.
Growweedeasy is a good place for basic information on soils.

I’m also using a compost tea made up of broken down egg shells, fresh grass clippings, apple cores, coffee grounds for nitrogen. I’m not to keen on chemical plant foods, and trying to go as natural as possible.

Update on her broken leaf, completely healed itself and you couldn’t even tell it was ever broken. Also, is it normal for some of her fans to only have 6 leaves? I noticed last week that some of them only had 6 and some had 7.

It's not unusual to see 4, 6 or 8 blades on a leaf. I've had them all from 1 blade to 14 blades.

Okay cool. Was worried it was some form of mutation. I’ll have to post updated pics, but had one more question, I’m assuming (because I don’t already know) when do they start showing sex? It’s almost 13inches tall and hasn’t preflowered yet and I don’t wanna waste anymore time if it’s gonna end up a male, ya know?

They can vary. My feminized seeds will show sex in about 4 weeks which is sooner than most. If yours are 8 weeks I would think it should show by now.

I thought so too. And it has new growth coming out from its nodes figured it would have happened by now. I was thinking about maybe inducing flowering? I’m not to sure honestly cause it’s my first grow

Id hold off .unless size restricted. Shell show soon be patient.
I know it can be tough on the first few runs but it will pay off in the end. Just my opinion

She looks great, no worry on the number of fingers. There's not much consistency on the number of fingers, varies by strain. I have some with 7, 9, 11. One of my strains has 9 only on the large fans around the main cola, the rest are 7's. Sexing varies as much, some show early, some much later. I just flipped one that still hadn't shown 100% at like 9 weeks from seed.

So update on the plant. Finally started to show sex and it is indeed a female! Pretty happy. So now that she has shown sex and what not how long till flowering really begins and how long till harvest

Neato, mine showed it's 7 fan leaves about 2 weeks ago :). Flowering starts when your plant is receiving less than 12 hours of light per day so you could use a tool like suncalc.net to figure out when that happens at your location. I can't really say much about harvest time as it's different for each strain, just keep an eye on those trichomes ;)
