I just don't see why you would waste your time with that. and promote a shit product. for the world to see for a one man company ordering lights from china in his garage about to go under and is riding on you to turn him around.
Right. Let's help the people in the growers market continue to sell overpriced cheap ass shit. I really dont understand that though process at all.
Especially with no real information to back it up.
The manufacturer doesnt list the type of cobs used to confirm the sphere test data, or even try to figure out the efficacy of the light.

oh and 1400 covers my 9x6x8 room. 25 watts per sq foot is what you need of samsung lm51c my 350W blurple puts me over 650ppfd ( AT FRIGGIN LEAST) at 2 feet. 2 FEET.
I looked up the LOWEST MARS HYDRO light I could buy and it hits 421 umol m²/s compared to your 87 umol m²/s....
AT 178 DOLLARS LOLO

Pretty sure his 87umol is for 1 bar, which makes me think this light is straight from alibaba even more, as the guy didnt have the shit sent off and tested himself. If you multiply it by 8 you get 696 umol m2/s

Heres a pic of the freshly popped seedlings. We shall commence week 1. Using oraginc composted soil/coir mix. Lights on 18 off 6.
Co2 from air drawn in from outside + exhale XL bag. Temps avg 85 lights on 78 lights off. IMG_20180603_212315_371.jpg

What are u talking about. Hes charging 1400$ for the lights. The specs are right here and the looks absolutely horrid. He give no information if that's per cob, per bar or what.
the fact that they are even measuring a spectrum like that in lumens pretty much tells you all you need to know about their understanding of the product

and OP i know you think people are ganging up but its the same thing weve seen over and over. in 99% of the cases when manufacturers cant produce meaningful specs on a fixture there is a reason - because its not a viable solution. In 2018 i wouldnt buy any fixture that wasnt either:
a)built with components of known efficiency and transparent about the exact parts they were using and under what operating parameters
b)undergone actual photometric testing to ascertain PPF and umol/J

anything else is just another fixture assembled with no-name parts and empty promises, of which we literally see several newcomers per week here all promising the moon by demonstrating a plant can actually grow under their light. If youve been around awhile youve probably seen some phenomenally healthy plants grown under fluoresecents but nobody is pimping techs under 100 lumens watt as a result of that. Almost any light can grow a healthy plant, which is no measure of efficiency.

If you want to put a kill-a-watt on that light rig and run that garden as a demo go for it- it would be useful data but realistically i would not expect to get yields any better than an equivalent HPS wattage in the same space.

Prior to the last run i am all HPS. I am skeptical ANY LED would out perform an HPS DE etc. But this is all for testing etc. I placed an order for a nice light meter to read ppf and micromoles etc. Im as skeptical and curious as you all.

there are too many examples to count that have been provided to date. If you understand plants and photons and that SE HPS produces 1.3 umol/J,DE produces 1.7 umol/ J, and decent LEDs produce 1.6-2.5 umol/J (and crappy LEDs 1.1-1.4 umol/J) the math is all there

go look at growmau5's youtube he has some good vids with actual metrics on g/watt, g/SF and g/kWh consumed

lots of seasoned growers here running the same strains under good LEDs they ran with lower yields under HPS that arent looking back

I placed an order for a nice light meter to read ppf and micromoles etc.
thats useful in the garden but wont tell you anything about your light's efficiency, unfortunately

Im as skeptical and curious as you all.
its good to be skeptical though i wouldnt base any conclusions on LEDs on performance of the MJ12 - in our experience lights like that are no better than HPS in efficiency and people often do worse with them on their first round because of the slight learning curve on the differences in growing with distributed light over point source like HPS (as well as the different spectra)

Singing about hps and running a POS led like this will make you run HPS forever.
