Hps or MH or LED?

Opinions? First hand pros and cons? For a 12x10 room fitting as many plants as possible. Thanks
LED's worth having are insanely expensive. I was just looking at a kit "deal" that is perfectly sized for my space, which is also 9x11, and it came out to 11,100.

Some of the best results are coming from gardens using a mix of hps with ceramic metal halides or regular metal halides that include a decent amount of UV. If you're just running exhaust 4 1,000 watt lights is about perfect. If you're running a sealed room with co2 than six maybe dialed down a bit. This would also depend on me or se and whether you're running air cooled or not.

600watt hps is the cheapest and best idea with leds being the most exspensive probably least preferable method for a large room.

At the end of the day all lights grow weed, you need to step up and make a personal choice, not that hard as all the same more or less :-)

Might suggest buy one of each and replqce the two you like the least.

whats your experience level? Also whats the height of your 12x10

so 12x10 room id divide into 3 rows of lights like as if its three 4x10 rooms. Id go with either 6 DE 1k hps if height is there for roughly $1800 or 24 quantum boards DIY built like greengrassgrower1(https://www.rollitup.org/t/from-des-to-leds.948046/) with 8 qb's per 4x10 for roughly around $3000

Exactly what I was thinking. And 3 grand to light a room like that plus energy and cooling savings is a no brainer.

People always talk about the energy savings of LEDs. When LED lighting started taking over, we thought there would be a reduction in energy use. It's still the same. People opted for having MORE lighting for the same energy use as opposed to EQUIVALENT lighting for less. And there is more light pollution now as a result. There was a long-term study done but I don't have a link, it's out there though.

For me like I’ve said in the past it’s not about energy savings my rooms/my house is set up and runs on solar. I’ve simply found them to be better lights and last much longer before anything goes wrong. I will say though there’s a place for all lights until they start going the way of regular incandescent bulbs which I can’t even find anymore at any store locally. It won’t be long before the other lights become unable to be found.

I guess if you are only going to grow for a year then yeah that would be mental. I cut my consumption down to almost half on lights alone. Then a lot more on ac. Not to mention less extraction making it go from sounding like I had a prop plane in my shop to having nothing at all.

The reason you can't find incandescent light bulbs is because of the Energy Independence and Security Act. By the time you can't find HPS and MH bulbs and ballasts, technology will have lowered the cost and improved the efficiency of LEDs enough to make it a non-issue.

Remember that if you go with HPS or HID you will need good air exchange get the heat out there fast has possible ,but replacing it with nice cool fresh air.But I would go with these lights well HPS if I was wanting good quantity of bud each crop .

If you growing in some where like a apartment, where noise may be a issue,or you have friends and family round ,but you don't want them knowing what your doing. Also real low cost to run then ,I go with a couple of LEDs .You get away with far more noise wise also cool to run .
