I bet it is. Just putting some of my Otto#1 pot in some coconut oil to cook me up some cocobudder. Almost no THC and lots of CBD. Wife's chicken lady friend is getting some to try. She got some tincture made with Critical Mass that helps but the resulting buzz is not to her liking so she'll be a good test subject. As will I. Ran out of the stuff I made with Critical Mass CBD I bought from a compassion club a couple weeks ago and my joint pain has been getting progressively worse. Smoking the Otto doesn't do much so hopefully the cocobudder does.

I have two phenos of crosses of the Otto with Cannatonic to make more budder with but starting with the mainly CBD one first. Should have made some weeks ago.

I just got done making about a pound of cannabis coconut oil.

I save the roots up and then chop then up and soak in pure grain alcohol. I then cut it with some water.

Good for use under the tongue or applied directly to injury like sore muslces and sprains and such.

I will mix cannabis coconut oil with coconut oil I add hot peppers and extract them. Strain. Mix. It relieves pain and burns warmer than any store bought muscle rub.

Probably smells a lot better than most too I bet. That A5-35 stuff puts a hurt on my nose but so does that Axe spray the kids all use these days. Glad I don't have to be in a city and trapped in an elevator with people like that. I hold my breath when walking through the cosmetic sections of big dug stores. I'd rather be in a barn. :)

Capsaicin is good stuff and I like spicy foods tho the wife doesn't. I'll add Tabasco to most things compatible and some things not. I really haven't been using any topical treatments for my aches and pains but headed that direction. So many chemicals in anything from a drug store so I'm not going there.

I got it on my hands and the wife and I start to go at it. It was on her privates as well as mine. Lol. It burnt like hell.

I can't stand a lot of perfumes and colognes. Candles, lotion and such. Most smell good stuff bothers me and even triggers migraines.

I don't know exactly what you are doing but mine always come out as an oil whether ISO, naphtha or butane.

I just heat it over simmering water and stir with SS spatula. A fork would work better come to think of it.

Some BHO I did a few years back.

Is that a hot plate? So you put your bho on top of a pot with hot water in it and the pot is on a hot plate? how hot do you keep your hot plate?

Just at a slow simmer. I evap off the butane outside until there's just a bit left then bring it in the shop for final warming and stirring until there's not a bubble to be found. Then suck it up in the glass syringe and put it in vials. Those ones have a thick plastic dipper built in to the cap. Don't like those so snip them off and shove a glass-headed pin through for dipping out blobs of oil.

Ok. This is how I do it, let me know if I'm doing something wrong. I blast outside in a Pyrex Dish, then I place that dish into a bigger Pyrex dish which I pour the boiling water into. I then wait till it stops creating bubbles (I will pop them here and there to speed up the process.) After that I then take it inside and put it both dishes inside a bigger dish that I have on the stove. I leave it on the stove and stir it until it comes out as that material.

So what' the deal? why doesn't it come out as oil?

When you do that last bit are you still doing it over hot water or just element heat?

The only thing I can think is that you are heating it too hot or for way too long and driving off a lot of the terpenes and other lower boiling point constituents of the oil that would help keep it thinner. That's why I have no interest in shatter and things like it. I use pot mainly as medicine and a lot of good medicine is lost when pot is over-processed. Gets you stoned as hell but that's not my goal anymore. Did that for the first 30 years of my pot history and now the quality of the medicine is paramount over the stoniness. I mostly make it into cocobudder and eat it now with just small hits in a little pipe where I can titrate my dosage better when I need a boost.

When I make my cocobudder I heat the coconut oil up to 260F to decarb it right in the oil then all the terpenes etc are captured and remain in my cocobudder. Just finished a batch last night of my OTTO#1 that has less than 1% THC and up to 27% CBD tho I have no real idea how much there is but I took a small dose last night and have less joint pain than I've had for weeks since I ran out of some other stuff I'd made that was supposed to be about 9% of each. Feel great and now have to go load a trailer to make a big dump run tomorrow. :)

Have a batch cooking right now that is from a cross of the Otto and Cannatonic and has a nice buzz when smoked so may try a dose of the new budder tonight tho I prefer to try each type for a week or more by itself to evaluate it efficacy at treating my arthritis and depression. Need to get more of those plants in the flower room ASAP!

You guys should consider a vacuum pump for bho.
I got air pumps that could be used to pull vac too but don't see the need. I'm not submitting mine for lab testing and there is so little butane left that only the truly paranoid are going to worry about it. A walk down any city street will have more, and more dangerous, hydrocarbons, particulates and other crap in it than you'd inhale from a pound of BHO made without vacuum purging.

As a long time tobacco smoker I certainly don't worry about it.

I set a cooking pan on the stove with some water in it and I place my bigger Pyrex dish (with water in it and the smaller dish with the bho in it) in the cooking pan and let it sit and stir for around 30 mins before it comes out like that

That's really odd as I've never had it come out like yours not even when I used to boil fan leaves in ISO for 4 hours to get crappy oil from.

Must be you're just doing it for too long and cooking stuff out of your oil making it too thick like that. I just do the warming with stirring until I get no more bubbles. I'll add a couple drops of water to it at that point and stir a bit more but once the water is gone I consider it done.

could you message me with step by step instructions on how to make the cannabudder for pain?
I'll send you a link to a How-To I did elsewhere.
