How long is left ?

The picture of a wappa female in flowering (day 58 of 12/12 or 8.29 weeks).
I am wondering how long is left as according to the description, it should be done soon.
Lots of milky trichomes, but really not so many amber and still clear ones.
Uploaded is a trichome picture of some upper bud sample taken with a usb microscope.

New white hairs are still growing on top buds, lower buds still have white hairs and more clear trichomes.

I was about to flush soon and harvest this weekend.
Any advice ? How long is left ?

I like to wait until around half the triches are Amber. Other people harvest when they see the first Amber triches.

I would flush, as it's getting close. You'll probably be ready by the weekend.

Amber is degraded thc, i want not more than 5% amber, then most trichs are milky .
Now that I think about it, I usually harvest when I start seeing more than a few ambers. Probably around a quarter. But I know that going to half amber is fairly common. Supposed to give a nice balance of high and stone. Past half will start giving you heavy couchlock though.

Personally i think when your high/stoned isnt what you want that you have to change strain. Milky trichomes are at their peak and give all treats from the strain. Thats my preference and theory behind it, but to be honest i cant scientifically proof it :D

This is more of a question that an answer for OP, but I find buds are no where near swelled and pistils are not receded when the majority of trich's are cloudy but there is no amber. So is the trade off to harvest at cloudy for peak thc versus degrading thc but getting more weight/swelling?

And to those of you saying you do not like to see amber, is there strain preference (ie: do you prefer sativa or indica)? Or is it just your rule of thumb in general?

Yes i do trade in some weight for taste but i grow for own use so that isnt that important for me.

At the moment im in a Indica phase but a nice high sativa is always welcome. Normally i have multpile strains going (sativa and indica) but not this time. Its round two of the melon gum strain and the last round when i had milky trichs, almost no glass or amber so im gonna see what happens this round.
Ofcourse, nothing is set in stone, until the moment i have a perfect grow, im open for suggestions.

I grew a Headband outside last year. Actually, I did an indoor/outdoor grow with her. I never saw anymore than a few ambers, no matter how long I waited. She went to around the end of the growing season, here in Oregon. It turned out really good, so I'm happy :)

More along the lines of adding to the conversation, but call it what you please. :)

When in doubt wait a week. I like amber and I like couch-lock.

You haven't begun flushing, but want to flush, but are going to harvest in a matter of days? Flushing is not done by drowning the plant over one or two clean-water-feedings. (Although it does look like you have some yellowing already, if that's not the lighting.)

My cheese clouds up very quickly (can be cut at 8 weeks) although next to no amber can be seen(even at 9 1/2 weeks),its all strain dependant ......if I were u I'd be giving water only for next 5-7 days then harvest.....it's all down to your preference. .....your not going to make many freinds with comments like your last one.....plants look well(a little yellow)....enjoy.......

My shits always clear and mature. My shit cleans out your grinder with sour solvent.. Amber trichs and hashy dominant tones go hand in hand. (overripe)

If you want answers ask the breeder who tried cramming a 20 week cycle into an 8 week period. "Mister seedpimp, why does half of my plant mature at 4 weeks, the other half at 8 and the other half never matures?"
