I can confirm the combination of a decent pheno, DWC and 65+w of blurple per sq ft has been effective for a 2x2 so far. Getting the second 300w (135w) Vipar has doubled the size of my plant compared to the first run.

I have a 2x2x4 so I need to keep the temp very low from the lights however, couldn't imagine using a light that produces decent amount of heat in a tent this small.

Your limited sample size makes me think your opinion is fairly useless to others. I've seen plenty of grow journals with excellent results for vipars and other blurples if you take them on a true watt basis (not 100w=3000w HP's type claims)

How many grows did you use the vipars in, what strain, what tent size, what was the grow medium, what nutrients did you use, how did you train the plant or did you train the plant, how long did you veg, how long did you flower.

My neighbor uses led and his buds are really nice chucky and dense. Maybe you had a bad experience or were messing up a lot of little things... Maybe heat or something like that. Well, hope this helps. Happy smoking all!

He's talking about cobs vs blurples. They're both LEDs. Head over to the LED sub forum of the Indoor grow forum if you want to take a trip down the rabbit hole.

And for the record, ODG - the "only larf" thing is bullshit when it comes to blurples. I personally have grown fat nugs off a pair of 90 watt Platinums in a small tent a while back.
