Too many Democrats running for office this year in CA?

California has an open "top two" primary system for statewide elections including U.S. Senate and Congress, state Senate and Assembly, governor, attorney general, secretary of state, etc. -- every eligible candidate from every party is lumped together in one big political crock pot

The Democratic party has reams of new candidates entering their names at all levels. Good, right?

Except it might come back to bite them.

Should Democrats talk about thinning the ticket in districts with a large ticket of Democrats in order to avoid Republicans capturing both spots? How would they do that? Should the Democratic Party leadership in California intervene?

Democrats sweat nightmare scenario in California
In key House races, Republican candidates might be the only names on the ballot in November.
https://www.politico.com/story/2018/01/19/california-democrats-fear-nightmare-midterms-2018-346948

Democrats who cheered the retirement announcements of Reps. Darrell Issa and Ed Royce last week are sobering up to a new fear: A potential nightmare scenario in which no Democratic candidate ends up on the November ballot in either seat, dealing a blow to the party’s efforts to retake the House.

The problem is California’s unusual, top-two primary system, where the top two vote-getters regardless of party affiliation advance to the November general election.

Let's hope so.

When both the Jokers and the Clowns sit down in the center ring and play their games out in the open for all to see, it's time to bring the whole tent down on them.

The Democrats- and certainly not Mrs Pelosi- aren't going to save us, they're here for the same dollars from the donor class as the Republicans.

The only way to send them a message is to discredit them so thoroughly they can't attract donor cash anymore because they're a bad electoral investment. The only way to do that is to STOP VOTING FOR THEM.

I'm not a neoliberal. You are more than happy to give neoliberal Democrats a free pass for it.

That makes you a neoliberal.

Clown.

You're better than this. You've been spending too much time hanging around the wrong people.

neoliberal isn't liberal in the US Democratic party sense. Neoliberal is fiscal liberal as in free market and let the money dictate. It's opposite of social programs like medicare.

Google has a nice definition.
Wikipedia is the one I went to. It gave the history and a deeper understanding of the term.

It's basically the US version of libertarian philosophy. Concepts like medicare, medicaid, universal healthcare, all of which are liberal planks Democratic Party platform are anathema to neoliberals. You trigger on the word liberal which causes to you miss the meaning of neoliberal.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoliberalism

Neoliberalism or neo-liberalism[1] refers primarily to the 20th-century resurgence of 19th-century ideas associated with laissez-faireeconomic liberalism.[2]:7 Those ideas include economic liberalization policies such as privatization, austerity, deregulation, free trade[3] and reductions in government spending in order to increase the role of the private sector in the economy and society.[11] These market-based ideas and the policies they inspired constitute a paradigm shift away from the post-war Keynesian consensus which lasted from 1945 to 1980

In neoliberalism, "liberal" refers to economic liberalism, not social liberalism. You, of course, are confused by your cynicism and fail to get past your bias about the Democratic Party and so you think neoliberalism means Democrats because liberal. Quite childish, actually. Neoliberalism is Republican and libertarian.

What is a neoliberal?

Mostly baby boomers who think they are on the Left.

Obama, Biden, Hillary, Pelosi, Brown.

If you supported Clinton over Sanders, you are a Neoliberal.

Neoliberals are too scared or too moderate to honestly support Liberalism, so they tow the line until they are positive that the public has " shifted" to a degree where their view will be shared and agreed.

How is it possible that you are always wrong? I mean, sometimes you'd make a typo or something that would accidentally put you in the right but nope, ever damn time. You get it wrong.

So, here is what a neoliberal really is:

Unsurprisingly, it's the post directly above yours where you once again have it completely wrong. You trigger on the word liberal because HILLLLLLAAARY:dunce: but neoliberals are actually conservatives.
