there are going to be several factors that play into the "end game" , can i push full power on the lights,, it will fully depend on how tall the plants get, I dont think there is any way in hell the plants can take 60 watts per square at only 12 inches over tops,,, and i doublt i will be able to keep 21 inches, I can raise the light maybe 3 more inches before it has to move left a bunch to go up next to the exhaust fan, but that makes the light off center?,, so what will happen, its a crap shoot, i have done 2 grows with 250 watts of cob , my old panel pulled 250 and had no dimmers, the second citi panel pulled 250 at full power, and both those grows went well, If thats the case then I am at 270 now, and they look fine ( ill go check them in a mintue),, will i have bigger colas with more watts?,, will it fry leaves?,, will i even be able to dial it up to full power?,, or will the whole thing blow up in a blaze of glory?
Man o man I say go for it. You can always turn them back down. I've run outta room with my colas reaching 8" from my cobs and they were fine. May wanna put a net in there to limit plant heights with a little more bondage and bending.

2 weeks flower today, I spread Jack Herer out with some Ties, I trimmed down the center of Space kitties and you can see the manifold thru down thru the center , Space kittles is out stretching Jack at the moment, but she has been the bigger plant the whole grow,,, the last picture you can see the upper half of my grow cab, and If i have to i can raise the light up to the left and next to the exhaust fan, its not centered, but it can be done if needed, I am doubting I will have to??? I do have the light as high as i can centered under the exhaust fan ,,, time will tell, its good either way, its one of the reasons i dont use reflectors the cobs spread light wide when mounted open,, but in my tight space it really is just a complete wash hahaha,, any ways enjoy the pictures, This tomato fert is cracking me up its fun having plenty of cal mag already in the mix,, talk about easy,,and with the Sip this grow is on auto pilotIMG_1764.JPG IMG_1765.JPG IMG_1766.JPG IMG_1767.JPG IMG_1768.JPG IMG_1769.JPG

Howdy Tim! Finally got a chance to read through your thread! You built a nice cob set up and would like to do that in the near future. You did well maintaining a nice even canopy and I can't wait to see these girls finish!! Thanks for the link to your thread and for finding mine. Happy Gardening Brother:bigjoint:

It's a bummer having to worry about the stretch and having height restrictions! Got the same issue over here
managed to raise the light another couple of inches and keep it centered, so its 16 inches over top of canopy, and i turned the cob power up to 335 watts, I am going to laugh if these plants can take all 360 watts of cob, that will be something like 60 watts per square foot,,

Another solid grow, Tim. I notice your leaves are doing what mine are doing in my non-sips that I put "super-enriched-soil" in the bottom of -- just a touch of nute-burn indicated at the tips. Since the plants are overall really healthy I'm reading that as I have a good balance, and sufficient nutes to carry it through to the end.

Must smell pretty in there :)

So you did 100% of your trench in tomato fertilizer? I don't have that much faith in any single product... lol... I think I mixed HF Fruit and Flower, FF Marine Cuisine, some tomato fertilizer for the calcium, and some Rainbow Pro, but I think I mixed that last one lightly into the soil. It's different setting up a SIP and a regular pot, because with the SIP the ferts are not mixed into the soil so the manufacturer's instructions don't really apply in terms of quantities per gallon of soil. I used the same ingredients in both kinds of pots, just applied differently. I think there are a lot of ways to get this right.

Yup, 100 percent of my Trench and I mixed in 2 cups of the same tomato fert into the bag soil, there is a picture on the first page of this thread that shows the tomato fert,, this fert did such an amazing job on my 6 foot tomato plant in the same sip last summer, that i just had to try it,, so far so good, no cal mag def,,, good color, and it looks like those roots have found the trenches ,, the plants are drinking about 2 gallons per day now, hoping they start packing it on,,
