Romulan

I happened across the last two regular Romulan seeds by chance while browsing Singleseeds.

I have never grown it before, am curious if anyone who has might have some input. I'm curious about grow and especially smoke information

I'm also curious why it seems fairly hard to find Romulan seeds? these are the first I've seen in the three years or so that I've been back growing

thanks in advance

by some reports the original Romulan parent stock was lost/stolen/destroyed quite some time ago, reports are the Romulan stock available these last 5yrs+ are a mere shadow of its former self, wouldnt hold out much hope for yours...but you never know?

i got some Grapegod seeds from about 7-8yrs ago, be using them in a purp pollen chuck later, i think i got in before things went bad with the Romulan, F2'd it as well as outcrossed it approx 7yrs ago, the F2 has an low to medium yield, but its a full on powerful trippy high, the buds look a carbon copy of the Romulan pictured in the catalogues with a very heavy raspberry syrupy/medicine odour, tends to herm under stress though, also seems to take a real longtime for the buds to mature, thats why im having a rest from growing it

TGA The Flav is a Romulan backcross (Romulan x C99 X Romulan) and Subcool got his cut a long time ago, I guess the 90's? He may have lost it in the fire and probably hadn't made The Flav in a while so they might be hard to come by. I popped five and only got one female. It was loud with a distinctive vegetal, almost minty funk but I didn't really like it so I didn't keep it.

7-8 years ago should still be money right there. I would highly recommend you using a male grape god for chucking. Hands down one of the best males I've used. It made a bunch of nirvana strains absolutely fire! large head colas of potent flavor. I gave my buddy seeds from the GG and nirvana's crystal and it blew away both mom and dad in its own way.

mmmm sounds like a good stud that, hoping my GrapeGod are the real deal, they arrived in a plain satchel...i bought 5 seeds i think from seedboutique? not sure now? but everything i got from seedboutique was genuine over the years since 2000, i wonder what that bank is doing these days? site is still there?

So much for this waste of a thread because the Romulan from Next Generation didn't crack!

.. every other seed from other breeders jumped out in 24 hours, sadly the Next Generation Romulan beans are still sitting there getting blacker. I'll update if somehow they crack :/

Bummer buddy. Where did you buy the next generation seeds from?

You might have got some old stock, if you bought them recently try emailing the supplier and let them know.

All I have ran by next generation was grape skunk and grape god but I never had issues with germination. I think I got seeds from an old site called green life or something like that.

Yeah it was from greenlife seeds which is surprising because all orders came fine for me and my brother from greenlife but others got ripped off by them hard and the website is gone so lol.

I got them from the Single Seed Centre.

.. everything else cracked right away. It's only 72 hours, guess there's still a chance but usually if they don't crack 24 - 36 hours its not so good

It was only a couple beans, but I don't see them available often and was kind of psyched when I stumbled upon them :/

Emailed with Romulan Jay from Next Generation seeds who told me that he hasn't had Romulan seeds in about 5 years, and that Single Seed Centre probably sold me some old seeds

He then offered to make it right with any order even though I didn't buy the seeds from him which I thought was pretty cool and I will be ordering from him very soon!8)

Btw, Next Generation seeds have some great prices and a good selection, definitely check them out because that kind of customer service is the bomb:hug:

Update on the Single Seed Centre I did hear back from them and they will be in touch with me most likely Monday I don't doubt they will try to make it right either although I've never dealt with them before everything I see says they're reputable I sure would like to know how 2 Romulan seeds happened to come up after 5 years because frankly I've been looking for Romulan since I came back growing almost 4 years ago and haven't seen it anywhere, now I know why

If the strain truly was lost or stolen like someone posted above I would have sent them back to Jay who might have been able to do more with them to get them to crack than me, I just gave them the basic paper towel treatment and then into my seedling mix after 48 in the towels, the other four cracked in 24 hours and are doing great right now the Romulan never did anything but turn black real quick

Anyway I'll add what Single Seed Center said, this was something strange that happened so I don't think it's fair to say this reflects Single Seed Centre business practice

.. but I sure would like to know where 2 five-year-old Romulan seeds came from?

I got a pack of romulan from next generation doing a pheno search about 12yrs back, running 100 assorted, 1 romulan runt was the winner, it was a road kill stench that was unequal and a local legend for yrs.. my understanding is Jay moved to europe shortly after i got it because i never seen another pack again. Theres a wright up somewhere i seen him saying this to about europe and now hes back in canada. I asked tga about the flav, they said the fires wiped shit out and there were more being made right now so there coming, i dont believe original stock can be worked forever any good pheno i have had petered out at 6-8yrs old and this is why strains arent around forever as folks need to find new parents and dont, i wish i would have made seeds with my pheno, still get props for my rom when i see the certain people. Would love some romulan, and am looking forward to some flav seeds.
