Dstroy's NEW grow journal

What's up? This is a continuation of my first grow journal, but enough has changed that I should start a new thread.

My setup currently:

two separate HPA loops, recirculating 80-100psi, accumulators, aquatec 8800's, a solenoid on every bucket. Each bucket has three 3/4gph misters, and a drain at the bottom. Every hour any water that is in the bottom of the buckets is recovered and recycled.

flower tent 10x cree cxb3590@1400mA 560w at the wall
veg tent 10x cree cxb3590@1400mA dimmed to 250ish watts at the wall

I've got a chiller set up that chills my cloner to 72f and my main reservoir to 68f

my new nutrients are greenleaf mega crop 120grams/20 gallons which is around 800ppm 0.5 scale

I'm using mammoth p again as well, I also bought some emerald harvest calmag (just calmag no iron) in case I need it. If I do need it I will note that I used some.

aero res
pH 5.8
ppm 800
temp 68

The plan is to eventually have a separate reservoir for each tent and run DTW, if these nutrients work out.

I'm a super noob when it comes to growing but I try really hard to educate myself about what to do and when. I've learned most of what I know about growing from here, except for the really sciency shit about HPA, that I learned from some books that I bought from agrihouse.

Right now, there are only two shitty tomato plants in my flower tent but they fill up the space pretty well.

Next run there will also be two plants, right after these get chopped the replacements are going in.

I'm ONLY running the same strain of BB until I get that down perfect, then I'll buy some different seeds.

My BB are on day 36 of flowering, I'll do the same as I've been doing and upload pics daily when in flower.

Gettin chunky
Lol I wish! They’re bigger than they were the last run by a lot.

Really hoping these new nutrients work out for me. I’ve got a couple smaller plants in my veg tent and they’re looking pretty good, and growing fast.

kinda all of it. i looked into it years ago but was kinda scared by the complexity and issues wiht power outages etc.
Ah, well it certainly is one of the more complex ways to grow a plant.

The way mine is setup, it runs itself and all I do is add nutrients and clean it.

If the power goes out, I’ve got a backup battery, the controller and solenoids are all 12v so they just run off of that, takes very little power, around 9w. Everything else goes down though, no environmental control which isn’t really needed if the lights aren’t on. I calculated that it would be ok with no power for 12 hours and then I’d need to hook up an inverter to recharge the accumulators, not a problem.

I have been meaning to purchase a generator though just in case.

Did some pruning in the veg tent, all the new growth looks fantastic. We'll see how they look in about a week or so, I'm betting pretty good. My veg tent is 3' x 4' x 71".

I'm going to keep them about this tall so when they go into the flower tent they'll fill it up when LST'd

Next run I'll do a better job pruning the bottom of the plants, if I took a picture I'm sure some of you would lol because the plants in the flower tent are gonna be a bitch to trim.

Day 41 of flowering for the BB

Res change today, lots of biofilm accumulated for just a week, but not the kind that smells bad. I should have taken a picture, I will next week.

Aero res
pH 5.8
ppm 850
temp 68

So I did end up adding the emerald harvest CalMag at 2ml/gal which brought the ppm up to 850.

Day 42 of flowering for the BB

Aero res
pH 5.7
ppm 810

pH has been trending upward, since adding the CalMag. My res was at pH 5.8 last night at 2300, and this morning at 0730 it was pH 6.1. I adjusted back down to pH 5.7 to give me some time before it needs to be messed with.

Water level is falling, EC is falling, and pH is rising. I’m not seeing any kind of tip burn at the EC I’m at but I don’t think I should raise EC more than it already is.

Edit: not seeing tip burn in the veg tent. Plants in the flower tent were already crispy
