Jay-zues! What did you do w/ Squeaky?
This is much too reasonable an argument style to be expecting from historical precedent. Kudos!
Take a moment and consider your stance could be equally applied to both sides.
Maybe they realized that simple yet important contributions of folks occupying those huge areas of the country are responsible for little things such as FOOD.
Are you self sustaining?

You decry the diversity of liberal ideology while denying that the same phenomenon could occur amongst conservatives? The interesting thing you'll find about liberals is that we're not some monolithic group all "following the leader" like Republicans with Trump in a cult like fashion?

I didn't because I thought the exact opposite of you and THANK GOD for the "archaic" reason of the founders taking into consideration the tyranny of the masses in geographically tiny enclaves vs. those that inhabit the rest of the country.I voted for Hillary, she was the better candidate for the ordinary people of the country but for better or worse she lost because of the archaic electoral college system defying the will of the people.

I'd rather have a political party that creates a system where everyone in the population is able to have an occupation that allows them to afford reasonably priced private health care options which Obombacare seems to be failing at with companies leaving the exchanges and ever growing premiums as it's history. But that ship has sailed. Loads of younger progressive lawmakers beginning to shine and move towards leadership of the Democrats.
You must admit with the proposed tax plan and plan to cut 20mill American's health insurance that Republicans aren't representing the interests of the lower echelons of their base, right?
This is a false paradigm as it assumes that you can only think one way or another and can only act within the narrow strictures of a party. Perhaps the Rep/Dem party system is the "old guard" that should be put to pasture. Both parties have an "old guard" that needs to go, then maybe we can work on practical bipartisanship again?
