So many variations can work. I keep them out of the light because they can root in indirect light and not photosynthesize much and start burning their leaves.

I have simply left the cutting in a small glass of water in the shade close to another vegging plant and had roots in 3 weeks. With 3 water changes. Just out of the tap. Well water in my case. I still am using no additives.

I ditched the cal mag plus as a cure for my soft water issue even. Proper feeding with the base nutrient is working better. So I am trying a couple 5 gallon pots to see if I can keep enough nutrients uptaking where in the 3's I may be building up salts and excess too quickly.

Do your wells go low in mineral content with dry seasons? I have lost a third of my ppm in the water since last year. Very dry on the west side this year still.

Sorry for the Segway :-)

Please carry on. This thread has great input so far.
man I gotta try the cup of water cloning, makes so much sense, wonder if a cup full of those constitutes a plant....hehe
if nothing else a cheap way to store some while you wait on harvsest/plant count reductions, when you need to flower their donors...

I wanted to be addicted to calmag, so bad, I was ready to spend whatever i needed just to get these awesome bene's I read about.
same with sulphur, but you know what....when I added either to my controls they-my treated plants- failed miserably at half strength even. They locked up quickly and did not recover.
I added them to the shelves of bottles and bits all dusty near out of my reach.

I was concerned with my well too for some time but luckily my pm's and dnr tests remain constant. when I raised tilapia in 1300 gallon tanks sometimes I would tax that well, surely a dozen others are on it too, and my numbers would change when I was filling pools, after ..(I used a pond seasonally, then quit)

1 gallon Tap water, 1 tbsp clonex, and a little great white. I use cheap storage containers from wal mart and holesaw sites in the lid and use 2 airstones in a 24x18x12 container. Personally I root better with the 360 mister nozzles so I'll be swapping to a water pump with some pvc on the interior soon. Maybe deeper containers too.

Diy ez-clone systems can be cheap (40-50 bucks for a 32-64 site) I would look into that if you're not having luck with traditional methods like the heat mat and root riots.

It's guess with well water you need to know what actual elements are in there to supplement it properly and a product like cal mag plus is made to replace the whole profile hydroponically and it is likely a very good well researched profile but made for RO water so there is no conflict.

I tried cal mag from 2 ml to 4 where nitrogen tox starts to set in. Also various waterings with and without and just keep going up and down with deficiencies. But that is in ocean forest with pure Blend Pro Grow. And it's better to go back a bit than add anything more.

I will likely switch back to Kind and use the base and Grow only if I need 2 bottles. The base is calcium nitrate only so I can adjust by "feel" lol and hope it works. :-)

not necessarily you, but the OP. cloning is easy, just follow the directions as @chemplem always says.

Damn! I didn't mean it that way. I fully agree with you putting up the link. No one ever brings it up in many long arguments about soil, nutes and such.

I'm really very high off some month cured killer I put aside from a nice plant and when I read the post I added the last part and I doubted how it would read and .........

See I am very high. ;-)

They are currently in my wardrobe, i have another grow on there at the moment so i leave a window open for fresh air for my flowering plants... it does get quite cold as the temps currently 7degrees where i am Thats why i thought it a good idea to get a heated propagator.
Are they on the floor in the wardrobe? and is there air exchange/movement in there? Trouble is cold can really sink.. but this is all guess work. I have no experience of your conditions so I don't know the truth. Glad that thermo fits! Only way to know for sure :)

Have taken new cuttings today as you can see

Temps ok but cant push humidity up. I have left a half soaked spunge in there and also a shot of water and also misted the plants and sides but the humidity jus wont go up :(

No my friend there on resting on a set of cupboards that fits in the wardrobe. The doors left slightly open and thats it. The conditions are cold and slightly wet

I have a thermo in there at the moment (one with a probe) but cant seem to rise the humidity

It was the environment that needed tweaking not the nutrients, now if we can just find some sucker to sell all our calmag and additives to..... :-)

not sure you need higher rh, but a mason jar of water with small air pump/diffuser/stone works wonders for small spaces.

That probe doesn’t read humidity ;)

I have the same thermo. Only the unit itself measures humidity.

Also, the temp probe is made to test liquid temps not air temps :)

ok ok, I have my first mj cutting quietly resting in a cup of water now. I'll keep us aprised
Put these in RO water and left them on the table under the 12/12 lights after doing some pruning. Only thing I did was mist every other day or when I would remember. They were cut 21 days ago, one week before flipping to 12/12. Did not know they would start to flower. Might trash them, might see if they develop further.
@MichiganMedGrower, I'm thinking of stories that I can share that are true. I will of course be careful not to say anything I should not. I've got a ton to pick from.
Do you hate bullies? Do you hate bully cops who get off on intimidating people? Ever see one get put on the spot and turn into a pussy in front of a hundred people? Be honest, because if you don't hate bully cops I don't want to waste a favorite memory.

I thought everyone hated bully cops. And loved marijuana roots! :-)
