why tf would you quote me then, try quoting what you refer to instead of misquoting shit
gee you're dumb, I quoted YOUR post because YOU said something that goes against what LED fanboys and the whole context of this thread are saying, I even put that part in Bold large red. Effen idiot.

And the shit show continues. Good bud can be grown with about any light source. My main reason for going LED was efficiency, I can use a minimum of 1/3 less electricity for lighting plus the cooling savings. And it can be much more versatile.
and I can live with and agree with that, it's the promise of magical unicorn farts and the "I'm led so my shit is better and don't question my tests that say so attitudes i can't stand.

"1,000w LED" for $125???
https://www.amazon.com/Double-Spectrum-Greenhouse-Indoor-Flower/dp/B0185OLBPK
Only pulls 185w at the wall. :dunce:
How do they get away with this?

Marketing requires exaggeration when it comes to selling these led lamps apparently.

They must have got it from the cfl screw in light bulb business. 15 watt actual bulb compares to 60 watts.

Not in my side by side they don't. Lol. There are 2 bulbs right near each other hanging bare from my basement ceiling. The 60 watt incandescent bulb is way brighter than the twisty bulbs I get to use now.

I won't be able to see if they go to 5 watt led replacements. :-)

LED cob system I built, pulling 2lbs of quality like this out of only 500w in a 4x4. Though I stack them in at 25 per 4x4, short 3 week veg.
LED done right is a winner in my book. Used to get 1.5 lb avg on a good run of a 1000w hps de.
Yields I'm getting little over 8oz more for half the watts...win win lol
Quality is better in looks and aroma, more crystals. Dept, slight increase in potency, probably all related to not being cooked by the heat that comes off a 1000w hps these are random shots from week 3-6 of flower. These were the same strains and mom's that I had under the HPS system before I built my lights a year ago.IMG_20171111_004919.jpg IMG_20171120_191016.jpg IMG_20171120_191037.jpg IMG_20171120_190905.jpg IMG_20171120_190702.jpg IMG_20171115_014750.jpg IMG_20171115_014402.jpg IMG_20171115_014132.jpg IMG_20171115_014702.jpg IMG_20171108_225256.jpg

Look at lumens per watt. LED bulb of 15 watts about 1600 lumens. Quantum Board 120 driven at 15 watts
about 2800 lumens. Pretty much shows you direction to follow.

Wow, 25 plants in a 4X4? I used to do 9 in my 5X5 and it was crowded.
I'm beginning to think LED is best suited for enclosed spaces with very reflective surfaces, like tents. Especially with quantum boards, since you can't really put a reflector on them like COBS.
Or can you?
Hmm...
Has anyone converted an old adjust-a-wing reflector to LED using a couple of quantum boards? Just mount the driver on top.
