Just for fun, check res temp at lights off.

Is the res open? Do you have to add water occasionally?

I'm just curious about where the heat is going.

Don't get me wrong, my interest isn't in being critical. Your system works! I'm interested in how and why, is all.

I would like to know, how much air/min. flows thru the radiator, inline fans have usually a lot of pressure.
Would also like to see the inside of his housing and how it is made.
With enough airflow it's possible to get temps below the freezing point..

It would be rather difficult to get temps below ambient.

Yepp, but did you watch the video? CPU temps are -8 - -20°C.
Several fans in a row increase the pressure, but not the flow. This means that only about 2x 100-120cbm/h(max. of 1 fan) are pressed through the radiator, but completely, because of the high pressure.
I'm curious what an inline fan would do on such a radiator since they usually build up 20-30x that much pressure as a PC fan?
Imagine, you could save the cost of your chiller ..

I didn't have to top up the res since it was first filled and it doesnt look like theres any water gone from it. Its fully enclosed res. Temp at light off is 19*C

Heres how it looks inside. The gan i use is TD-Silent.
On first speed its rated 430 m3/h and thats what i run. On second one it gous up to 580 m3/h

I did watch the video and I saw no evidence that he reduced the CPU temperature below ambient temperature for the room. That's still a laudable achievement, but it won't make ice for drinks. Did I miss something?

Bueno! Looks like a home built version of an 'Icebox' from Hydro Innovations. I have several of them.

Are you pushing or drawing air through it to extract heat?

Where is that warm air going?

Yepp, seems so.

The CUP is running well below room temps it runs even below the freezing point, OC'ed to 4,6GHz and the CPU is rated with 130w at 3,2GHz. To get -8 to -20°C CPU temps you usually need liquid nitrogene.

Do you think it's a fake? With enough airflow and pressure, a negative temperature delta seems quite feasible.

The only way to cool lower than ambient is to use cooling by evaporation or something like that. Just blowing air over a solid surface isn't going to cool it below the temperature of the air that's used for the blowing.

The video that you posted was clearly a troll, self admitted by the host.

Stacking fans won't by itself drop temperatures like that, or else no one would ever bother with compressors.

Maybe those readings are reductions from baseline? That would make more sense.

Drawing air through it.
Air is going outside the tent, into the wall and out the room. Unfortunatelly not in a straight line. About two 90* bends and one about 150* but I can't do much about it

Water cooled, vertical LED grow...

Kinda chokes me up, I'm so proud... Lol

Outside the room. Its good I left the drivers inside as it would be really cold in there. Too cold.

Now I remembered when I was first was looking at leds I saw Your posts raving about them.
I bought blurple led (black dog led alike) and first grow I did with it was oozing resin from the buds!!! Yield wasn't special but I knew its the right direction. I switched to HPS after and set a new record in my tent (decent quality 1.3g/W out of auto strain :D ) but was more and more interested in LED tech. I knew it would catch up someday. So here I am now , with new gear trying to bump the quality and beat a new record. It is really addicting hobby :hump:

As part of my research program into reducing the overall power consumption footprint of large scale indoor cultivation, I've made a careful study of heat movement and refrigeration.

There are indeed pressure and temperature effects but they are small- or they require lots of room.

Update time :)

Ladies are starting to grow some fur :bigjoint:
Not much to report. Turned down lights a bit as they are really close to the plants and started noticing some burns on just a few fan leaves. Top bar running @320W and bottom @330W
I have to shave them a bit again. Its like a jungle in there :weed:

Can You see the differentce between top and bottom row ?
Top looks to me more developed. The only difference is that top was getting fresh supply of oxygenated water and grown more water roots.
Very nice setup! If the top is more developed it could be due to higher temps in top of the tent leading to higher rate of metabolism.
