Exotic Genetix - Pink 2.0 grow log

I notice Pink 2.0 just sold out everywhere and I had a batch of seeds, so I decided I would do a grow log. (maybe the last one ever? lol) I havent been on here in years due to laziness (also because of my name, if anyone knows how to change your username let me know.), but I have never stopped growing.

I germinated 9 out of the 11 seeds (saving 2 for maybe a few grows down the line). 8 out of the 9 have sprouted out of the soil. One is lagging behind, but I am confident it will also sprout. My methods for germination is to put all the seeds in a cup of R/O water for 24hours or until all seeds sink. I leave them for a few hours after they sink, constantly shaking up the water to re-oxygenate (I also add ORCA liquid myco to the water). I immediately put them in soil afterwards. I have maybe a 93-97% success rate with my seedlings doing this. then I dribble water on top of them every few hours for 1-2 days till they pop through the soil. They are in Fox Farm Happy Frog X Fox Farm Ocean Forest X Perlite miture. I feed only organic also.

As you can see rather than buy a 2 foot 4 tube light, I made my own lol... $129 at the hydro store for the light, this cost me $20 and ive been using it for years. (obviously some of the stuff, like the tripod, i already owned. $.20 cents for the aluminum pan, $12 for 4 x 23 watt CFLs (1700 lumens each), and like 8 for the timer. So really online like $12.20 spent, so I saved $100+ and its been going strong now for two years. I use it for seedlings up until about 2 weeks old, then I move them into the tent that I already have plants in (pictured below).

In the tent pictured below, I used a 400 watt, 3x3, 440cfm going out and two seperate fans totaling around 400cfms going into the tent. There is also a carbon filter. (ill put more pics of the tent up later). Generally I get about 1lb per run and ive been using the same setup now for a little over 2 years. I have downgraded a lot in the past 4-6 years, as you can see from my previous posts. I only grow for myself now. I will setup my 4x8 tent when I have to breed in the next few months.

In the tent picture with the 4 plants, there is a gorilla glue #4 S1 which will be what I am using to cross with the pink 2.0. I will be looking for a star fighter leaning male (but that's a different post for a later time). I am looking for the perfect starfighter leaning male and I am going to cross it with 1 of the 200 gorilla glue #4 S1 seeds I have. (Once again, that will be at a later time. I have to grow all this out, clone it all then re-do the breeding project with the selected clones) This post is just to show case Exotic Genetix since there really dont seem to be many grow logs and I am not sure if they will ever be bringing this strain back.

I will post more pics tomorrow, feel free to comment etc... I am a cheapass and I dont like spending money on shit I dont need. I still have the 2 400 watt lights, 1 1000 watt light, 2 tents from my previous grow logs all in storage ready to be taken out at a later time.

Day 2 since they popped. The last seed has sprouted so a 100% germination rate.

If you notice the plant in the bottom of the picture, very bottom row, middle plant. It has a much larger/wider leaf structure than the others. Compared to all the others which seem uniform, its quite wider. I am curious what this one is going to grow into, since it is so different.

Day 4 seeds are going strong, except for the one that just popped a day or so after the others. All appear to be happy and growing uniformly. This is probably the only grow I have ever done where I am hoping for a higher percentage of males... I am running out of space in my grow tent, and I wont have access to a second room with enough power to do another grow tent for quite some time. I might just end up doing 1 main cola per plant due to the fact that I wont be able to fit more than 6 in the tent I have currently set up.

Also the way I tend to tie my plants is a method I found easiest over the years. I insert a 3 foot rod into the medium when transplanting into a 5 gallon, leaving 2 feet out of the soil. As the plant grows, I use hemp string to make a spiderweb like pattern inside the plant connecting to the main stake. This gives imho more support than anything I have ever tried... Using the stake as the foundation I continuously keep adding more and more string, over time, to tie the individual stems to each other and them to the stake and then back again. I actually dont "tie" it, I just loop it around fully so that when the plant grows the string is cutting into the plant. The string will move as the plant moves, and the structural integrity remains the same. I honestly hate scrogs/tomato cages/basically anything that isnt this technique... It might be more difficult, but being able to control what is holding/supporting what at ALL times is truly critical. You will get to see what I mean a bit later in the grow. (if you havent already seen it before)

Once again, feel free to comment.

I'm watching, I want to see how your gg4 s1 turns out. Do you have just one of them or more? I've been curious about how much variation one would seed out of a pack of them.

I am probably going to be switching to all mission fertilizer over time, it is certified organic and made specifically for cannabis. It has been out performing the earth juice so far.
I have tried Advanced Nutrients organic line, I have tried their non organic line, I have tried neptune's harvest, I have tried the Fox Farm full line, I have tried biocanna, i have tried general organics, the list goes on... I may have very well tried every top nutrient line-up in the many years of doing this... Nothing, and I say nothing... Has came close to mission fertilizer, which is now out performing the Earth Juice, which was out performing everything prior.

Highest yielding nutrient lineup: advanced nutrients
best tasting nutrient lineup: my combo...
This is my opinion, but a years ago when I was running all clones from the same mom (then she died and the clones started herming after 2 years of constant cycling) I tried everything on different plants (all from the same mom) and found that nothing came close to earth juice. This year I saw mission fertilizers and decided I would try to implement it and it has being going great.

The gg#4 S1 is currently 20-30 days away from harvest. My large problem with that strain is it has two genotypes... both are almost identical to each but 1 herms and the other doesnt. No matter the environment the phenotypes always come out the same... Now I am not talking about full on herming it will just pop one nut sack on the main stalk towards the very bottom. Which even if it pops results in no seeds, ever.... It is a very strange strain. I currently have 1 growing (baby) along side the other Pink 2.0's. I will be selecting the best male to pollinate the gg#4 S1. I have around 200 seeds left currently of the GG#4 S1. In my experience its a near 50/50 ratio to the plants that pops 1 nut sack at the very bottom of the plant (main stalk) and the plants that doesnt.

Very interesting, did you make your own s1's?

Yes and no. I used to work at a "garden" in california while continuing to grow my own at home. Our top strain was GG#4, my boss essentially paid thousands of dollars for a GG#4 clone. Then used that clone to be a mother. I then "stole" a clone off that mother and set up a timer to grow the plant. I would have the timer shut off the light for 2 minutes every 4 hours for its entire grow cycle. By the time it got to veg I had one tiny male flower which gave me 300 seeds. I have had those 300 (now 200) seeds now for around 2 years.

edit: flower not veg... I had the light stress it out during veg. then let it flower with a normal 12-12 light cycle with no light stress being induced.

EDIT: please read the backstory below before you vilify me, ;)

That's your opinion, unfortunately you came up with an opinion without the whole backstory, which is sad... One I really don't care to explain in full detail here because it would give away sensitive information pertaining to the grow. You also came up with an very large assumption, now how did I break myself? What I will tell you is, I essentially left the grow because the owner was making millions and I was being paid around $30,000 yearly.... I will also tell you that my agreed pay was supposed to be in the 6 figure range, of course that changed very quickly and I was paid small amounts monthly and promised a large amount at the end of the year. I didnt get it, so I left (any my co-worked) and took my severance pay with me.... One tiny cutting off a plant that could supply dozens monthly, not to mention there were 2 mother plants each of 4 different strains... Now thats about all I can say...

I say fuck'em if they fucked you, then fuck them back. I'm jealous you have that many badass seeds. I'll be watching your grow.

Exactly. Unfortunately I have now grown it and consumed it so many times I have to switch it up. I do think it would be an extremely interesting strain to breed with though. I have now added in a Gage Green Grape Stomper seed into the grow. I will be crossing both the grape stomper and the gg#4 S1 with a pink male. Hopefully I will get a bunch of seeds that have the pink starfighter pheno i chose to breed with in the batch of seeds, therefore keeping the strain in my possession to continue growing it. I think there is a large possibility Exotic Genetix stops releasing Pink, so i would like to keep it in seed form. I have already picked out two of the 8 Pink 2.0 to use, hopefully one of them is a male.... Pink 2.0 seedlings at around day 5 will start to smell. A few seeds always smell more than the rest of the batch, and that is the Starfighter pheno. I have grown pink 2.0 out a few times and noticed this. Even though all 8 seeds have similar plant structure/almost are identical a few will be extremely pungent if you rub the stalk and smell it or stick your nose in their. Just a hint for anyone growing the strain.

If you thought the gorilla glue #4 S1 was frosty wait till you see a Pink (starfighter pheno) female, its just as frosty and has pink hues all around the buds. Truly is beautiful.
