Agreed, in my DWC grows I let it drift up to 6.4 and then correct back to 5.8. The rise in pH is a GOOD THING. It shows the plant is feeding and drinking. When you pH drops, FIND OUT WHY!and that chart really shows that coco is a hybrid, because after 3 years of using it, i can tell you the actual range for coco is 5.8 - 6.3, stay in there and you're good, go higher or lower, and you'll have problems.
Thanks for that. Looks very useful. Cant get a great look at it on my phone will have a better look later on.This one shows both sides of issues.
The calcium ppm is 76. Is that the ppm im looking for?Aye 7 is a tad too high for coco, it would've been higher with 1/4 nutes! Aim for around the 6 mark. Coco does have a buffer of around 6. So the stress is caused because of the drastic change of PH within the rootzone.
Be careful with that ph down. It's crazy strong I found. I put a drop into like 50ml of water then add that water to my nute mix but by bit until the desired PH. I use to feed at 6.
If some is coming Wednesday I think it'll be fine. Just keep an eye on them. If you need to water before then I did use lime juice to drop the PH. Just one drop dropped it a lot so again, try diluting. Also, try get organic if possible.
Regarding calmag it really depends on your water. You can check your water I believe online. See the mineral contents.
But in general I precharge the coco with calmag before I grow. Then add during.
So for you I'd suggest using it sparingly late veg/early flower depending on your waters content. Then up it 2-3 weeks into flowering. But it does all depend on your water. For me I had 35ppm water and no calcium or magnesium in the water. So I have to supplement every watering with cal/mag.
If you running RO, 2/5ml per gallon. I run 3ml/gal. Your Ferts will have some Ca. With tap you should be able to skip supplementing. The calcium ppm is 76. Is that the ppm im looking for?
ok thank you. is that the only ppm i need to check is the calcium ppm or is there another i need to check aswel?.If you running RO, 2/5ml per gallon. I run 3ml/gal. Your Ferts will have some Ca. With tap you should be able to skip supplementing.
Do some homework on it. Lots of ideas. Hell some don't bother with pH. Just stay in the sweet spot . pH and PPM's go hand in hand in DWC. You should log your numbers for a while. That way when you kill one, you have the "What the FUCK did I do?" I keep a log on my grow's. You learn what you need to know after a few grows. And ALWAYS use half of what the bag/bottle say the first time you use it.ok thank you. is that the only ppm i need to check is the calcium ppm or is there another i need to check aswel?.
thanks. ive done a few grows just moved city and the water is different here think its fucking up my grow lol.Do some homework on it. Lots of ideas. Hell some don't bother with pH. That's fine mate. What's your water ppm?The calcium ppm is 76. Is that the ppm im looking for?
My water information is the top row. That's fine mate. What's your water ppm?
I notice when i mix my nutes and leave them in thevtent the heat seems to seperate the nutes in the water.I'd invest in a PPm meter dude. Can get one of amazon next day for a tenner. Super handy to find your water and feeding ppm. They also come with a temp gauge as well.
Mix your nutes. Leave overnight in the tent so your water is the same temp as your roots. Adjust PH in morning then feed
Ppm values are much more crucial in hydro/coco than soil..

"water ppm" IS the total of that list, add all those numbers together, and thats what the ppm of your water is supposed to be, according to your local water authority....actual results WILL varyMy water information is the top row.
It does not say water ppm but it lists the things within my tap water and the ppm of them things.
Also says the ph is 7.5
Ive bow decided to go fro 1/2 nutes to 3 quater nutes. And ph has started to come down nicely.New growth is perfect which tells me that the plants look hungry! But before you feed them more, whats the PH of the nutrients when you mix it up? If it's higher than 6.5 that's not helping. Also, adding more feed brings the PH down, 6 region i found was pretty good for me in coco. 5.8-6.2 depending on plant
If all is in check try a half feed of nutes, you were right to start at 1/4 strength. I take it they started yellowing, browning about a week ago?
Yellowing nitrogen, brown cracking ect P+K..
Depending on your water, Cal/Mag will be needed down the line.
Thank you. Yh the tap water ph on that list is very close to 7.5"water ppm" IS the total of that list, add all those numbers together, and thats what the ppm of your water is supposed to be, according to your local water authority....actual results WILL vary
Good stuff! Yeah they were most likely hungry. Post a pic when u can, see how they're getting on.Ive now put them all under the hps as i moved a few from the t5 the other day and have noticed, they are recovering nicely.
ill post a pic within the next couple of days to show how they are doing. Maybe i should stick to my hps n leave the t5's alone.Good stuff! Yeah they were most likely hungry. Post a pic when u can, see how they're getting on.
Regarding leaving the nutes over night should be fine. I wouldn't go more than 12hrs with them in the warmth, also cover the bucket as well so no light gets in. Simply give it a stir and it'll mix them all up equally again
