I'm back at it with my third grow and this time I'm keeping the plant:bigjoint:. If you have followed my past two blogs I had them growing elsewhere. Now I have my own place, so I am super stoked to begin and finish this grow.

PC Box: 19"x9"x22"

1 Passive intake and 1 120mm outtake fan with carbon filters

Morsen 150w UFO LED(50w actual drawn (I will also be purchasing an extra one in the future)) and two 10w LED china cheepo lights

Nirvana's Feminized Blue Mystic

Black Gold's Organic potting Mix and Vermicrop's fire potting mix, Azomite Powder, Dolomite Lime, and Worm Castings

All Organic nutes, Garrett Juice, worm castings tea

Without further ado, the plant is on Day 11 and looking really good. The humidity has been on the low side about 29% but it's getting back up to 40%. Still not optimal, but I am spraying every so often and putting wet towels. Anybody have any ideas on adding Humidity to a PC Box?

I plan on vegging it for over a month as well as buying an extra LED UFO to supplement the 50w. Right now there is 70w which is doable for Veg, but 100w for flower is preferred. However, these things take money and I'm on a strict budget. I will be keeping the plant in its pot for one more week then transferring it. Anyways, here it is.

... no? It looks to me like it's growing a little slow, as well I was wanting to wait a little more to purchase my light. Do you think it would overgrow it? How much longer do you think I need to flip it?

You should look into it, it may seem intimidating at first because there is a fuck ton of information. I am still sorting through it all, but start with something small and work from there
Yea have been reading on it. I have a recipe in mind. Luckily a lot of the organics members are so helpful and quick to answer questions... some of them lol

Day 15

Wassup y'all

I wanted to wait a week because I always hate it when grow journals spam me with small growth. However, Betty (Blue Mystic) turns 2 weeks so I thought that I would share some pics and info on her.

Yesterday I mixed the potting soil together with over three gallons of Vermifire, perlite, a few cups of worm Castings, Azomite and Dolomite. Then instead of starting the cooking process with water, I used Garrett juice. The soil was already really moist so I didn't spray it too much, just enough not to have the soil mix soaking wet but to get the microbes eating. I wanted to cook the soil for at least a week, but this plant is growing really fast and I can only imagine what it's going to look like when it's transplanted. Ipso facto, I will not be vegging for a whole month. I plant to transplant then flip so by tomorrow next week they would be flipping.

Although these LED lights are on the cheaper and low quality end, this plant is growing much faster than on CFL's, which is very exciting. There is already growth between all the nodes, so that's really great.

The humidity has been shitty, the lowest was 16 and highest I have seen was like 40. The house I live in is 108yrs old and the below freezing temperatures and wooden floors, just take away all the moisture. I'm using a towel wicking method, but even after wicking and drying the high for humidity was 31:finger::cuss: temperatures have been fine though. All in all I'm satisfied with this grow, and am surprised at the quick growth. Anyways here's the porn:

Day 17

I did not transplant Betty today, but watered and foliar fed with Garrett Juice and Hydrolyzed Sea Kelp. I sprayed it after the lights went out so hopefully I'll see the fruits of it here in a few days.

Transplanting today; I haven't observed any growth in the past few days and saw roots coming out of the soil. I started noticing leaves dropping as well as the cotyledons have turned yellow. I looked up stunted growth and read about it being root bound. so I took out the pot and observed foot long roots wrapped around on the bottom. So will definitely be transplanting tonight. I will post pics in a few day, ready for this girl to blow up!

Day 22

Wassup Y'all

The transplant went well and now the plant is exploding. It seems as if the plant was stunted for 4-5 days, which sucks but all I got is time. The nodes are growing nicely, and the fan leaves have perked up from the drooping curls. Humidity has been in the 40-50's which isn't ideal but still not bad. Here in the next few days I will start train it and depending on the growth, switch to 12/12. I haven't started working on the light trap for the passive intake, but I have all the materials. I won't water/feed it for another couple days. It has been 3 days since I last watered it and because of the recent over-watering and root bound problems I will be letting the plant dry out. I will feed every other week because of the moisture in the soil is so high and takes awhile to dry. So next will be a feeding, I'm still deciding on whether to feed it full growth nutes or do half along with some amendments and supplements. Any suggestions?

The plant has also been taking on different fragrances. The first week it grew its first true leaves it smelled like sweet berries and skunk. Five days or so later it smelled like skunk and mint and today it smells like basil and tomatoes. Pretty crazy eh? Anyways enjoy the porn

Happy MLK Jr Day!

Day 24

Wassup Y'all

The node's are exploding with growth while the plant is reaching upwards. Here in the next few days I'm going to switch to 12/12, but even then it may be too late. This strain is a short and squatty one, but it could still overgrow the case easily. I wanted to give the plant like a few days of complete darkness, but I'll be feeding her around the time of complete darkness. The soil is very slow to dry even though the drainage is great. It really looks like I'll be watering once a week. I have tomorrow off so I'm going to work and finish the light trap, as well patch up any light leaks. Enjoy the pron

Day 28

Two nights ago I topped the plant and it has adjusted nicely. Today I pulled the main stem lower seeing as it's risen up towards the light. The plant is looking beautiful but starting to smell. The Blue Mystic is supposedly fragrant neutral, but this pheno is definitely not. I bought an air filter fan a year ago for the first grow. Today I put it on top of the exhaust and it's working perfectly. Pulling more air than and through the 120mm fan And filter it out through the carbon filters sitting on top of the fan as well through its own. Since using it the smell is no longer lingering in the room, so that's great. I will have to do some improving in keeping the stealthiness having the filter sitting on top. The PC case is in the front room, Anyways, I'm giving the plant 36hrs of uninterrupted sleep and go into 12/12. She's growing steadily and beautifully. Without much ado here she is

I have fed it kelp via foiliar feed just once and that was a week and a half ago.

Other than that the soil is packed full of nutes

Maybe that's the issue I had with my first run. The soil wasn't cooked long enough.
Yeah next time around the soil will be cooked long enough. The rest of the soil that I didn't use is cooking and will be until I use it for the next grow which won't be for another couple months.

Should I add Organic Potting soil, one that doesn't have as much nutes in it?

You can add the super mix to the bottom two thirds of your pot. Then make that last third regular potting soil. With any luck the seedling won't get to the good stuff before it's developed a bigger root system. Hopefully avoiding the burn from hot soil.

Alternatively. You could also make that a 50/50 split. Or even dust the hole you drop the seed into with some Mycorrhizae. That Myco stuff forms a symbiotic relationship that'll feed the plant better. As it's able to break down bigger nutrients your plant can't access. In return the plant feeds them.

The only thing with living soils is that you have to use the more natural fertilisers. Otherwise you could effectively be nuking the microherd with salts and other chemical crap. In which case. You may as well be running coco/hydro.
