I just figured you were saying mirrors were bad because they reflect heat, as though mylar does not... Last I knew, mylar was developed for that specific purpose. To reflect heat.

the reflective part of the mirror is not glass, but the material behind. you could make a fuzzy mirror with glass over mylar.
