How long from germination does it take to show sex

I think what most call preflower is it being mature and showing sex, roughly 4-5 weeks after popping soil but could vary as much as a week. It will stay like that till you drop light levels low enough per genetics(or age, with its facultative photoperiod). It is then flowering the first night of 12/12. The hormones break down in the light and it flowers again the following night. Doing this succesively creates the flower growth.

I mainly grow landrace sats but have grown lots of tga, sin city bodhi most everything from DNA and everything from og raskal
So have done a wide variety of strains
The landrace sats... are they as finicky/sensitive as ive read?

Nice plants, tight node spacing! Don't see preflowers in your pics. I've been early sexing by preflowers for decades and would say by the looks of ur plants they are showing or very close. Earliest i've sexed was 12 days from seed (male), never had any strain take longer than 5 weeks from seed pop. The norm is 3 weeks. Light being 18/6 24/0 seems to make little diff. Going 12/12 to sex makes no sense to me. Many people think they need to do that though?

501st OG - 21 days. All the bigger ones in the picture. The topped ones are not showing as pronounced as the natural ones. 4/7 are showing but I can't quite identify 100% just yet... Im leaning male on two of them.

I agree with luvtogrow though, theres really no reason to force them into showing sex by flowering prematurely unless your just that impatient or are really tight on space, in which case... Buy fems :) having to cull males is just part of the process... Though it does bring a tear to the eye to find your favorite girl is really a boy :,(

I just finished my first grow of Nirvana fem northern lights and was breaking down my last dried plant last night to put in a jar for curing and a full nice looking seed fell off of it. I couldn't believe it! It must have went Hermie and I didn't even realize. I plan on paying much closer attention to my grow I have going now.

I agree with you 100% plants naturally show sex within the veg stage any where from 1 week to 6 it all depends on strain , phenotypes , and growing conditions . The plants whole soul purpose is to create more seeds to spread its individual genes so they want too. But that seed you found is pretty much a Guaranteed female and even though those pics were from a couple days ago they have explosive growth and they all have a strong smell of buds which a new one for me to see a plant smell like buds without even preflower.. Here's some more update pics ....tell me what you think!

I think you need at least 9 nodes, sex shows on node 7 when two nodes up are mature. Usually around 5 weeks 35 days or so. Those look like tjney have another week or so to see their sex, and you will have to be real good. I would take some cuts from the lower area and clone those, while waiting. peace.

both female. the stems are beginning to alternate vice being opposing. Congrats. your seeds were female from the start it seems. peace

When the main stalk branches the branches will begin alternating creating a space for the bud site to form. Males not so neat their branches are straight across from each other or opposing sides creating a head on top and not bud sites up the stalk. Peace

Males will alternate their branches also. The alternating branches is a signal of maturity not sex.

Well shit just got real damn... But do male plants give off a smell of bud before preflower while still in veg
Males can smell in veg as well as females. The close-up picture you posted is right where you'll wanna be looking, it almost looks like there's already a pre-flower starting.

Not true. I see preflowers on fourth node all the time.

Not true. Alternating nodes are common as the plant matures. Male/female makes no diff.

I know it looks like it should be but its not ... Just more undergrowth it's only on its 6th node but still no sign of anything. I can wait to see if it's male or female I'm not inpatient but they just look so beautiful that if even one is male I'll cry lol ... But these beans came from 3 separate nugs of the same bud and it was really good bud so I'm going off the fact that it might be already feminized... But I was thinking maybe switching to HPS in a few days cause I know they usually double in height when flowering

not to argue in someone else's thread, but I am going to disagree with you. I was taught by two Master growers over 20 years. I have yet to miss a female or a male. males grow fast and tall, females grow slower and take longer to show their sex. male plants are always opposing branches. go look. Female plant are always alternating. go look. That is how I was taught, and that is how I have done. It works. peace.
