Week 1 Day 1 Of Flower

Damn It Man Yes That's My Soldering Iron In My Tent. Upon Hanging My Lights 5 Minutes Before Lights On I Broke The Connection On My 730's. I Guess Your Not A Fabricator Unless You Can Solder Upside Down And Staring Into A 60 Watt Cob :eyesmoke:

Now Check It I Have An Auto-Topper !!! I Swear She Topped Herself Into 3 Main Colas :hump:

Started reading this thread because I was interested in LEDs and now I'm a little overwhelmed with all the wavelengths and different colors and spectrums running at different times, I don't want to hijack your thread but have a few questions if that's ok?

So I guess my questions pertain to my setup I am wondering if it would be more beneficial to run an LED in veg with a 400 watt metal halide or if it be more beneficial to run it in a flower room with 3 600 watt HPS? Also I'm wondering about spectrums and if mixing them with the HPS or the metal halide would be beneficial right now I'm used to my 600 watt HPS and I feel they do a good job but I think a LED might make it better. Also would like to have these done as a DIY I'm considering adding them to my reflectors with metal halide bulb or the HPS bulb so what do you think what would be best can you also recommend cheap LED that I can put together?
My only experience with led in the grow room was a hand held shop light...lol, so I'm a newbie when it come to this subject.

I was thinking 1 small led added to each reflector, say blue added to my flowering lights?

Then you made me think about the different spectrums and wavelengths and uv light Mabey a mix of blue and a uv led for the 600s. I'm just looking to improve the light spectrum.

Will this be beneficial? Can I build something like this on the cheap? Thanks in advance for the help.

....mmmm......for me its a no no... wires too exposed...posible future problems...

...security first....my old pov...

Easy fix with a dab of hot glue between where it's exposed and the aluminum with the added benefit of holding the wires in place :)

Ok Adding Anything In Veg Is A Waste Of Time And Theirs No Real Benefit To Adding Any 430-460 Blues To A M.H. Lamp. Now If You Want To Build A 240 Veg Light That Will Replace Your 400 Watt MH Hollar I Will Help

For Your Flowering Room. I Would Add At least 10 Watts Of 730's Per 600 Watts Of Hid. What 730's Do Is Basically It Puts Your Ladies To Sleep Faster. Which Is Why We Only Run Them At Or A Little Before Lights Out

You Mention Attaching Them To Your Hood. You Could Use 3/4 Square Tube For This And Run 3 730's On Both Sides For A Total Of 6 And Combined With The APV 16-700 Will give You 10 Watts Of 730s' For About 25.00 Usd :weed:

Also You Mention UV. At This Time I'm Not Aware Of Any Good UV Led And Beings Your Using Hid I Would Suggest The Reptile UVA 5.0 And UVB 10.0 . I Would Also Suggest You Getting The T-5 Bulbs As The CFL Types Don't Emmitt Enough Light For Our Needs

looks good bro. nice work. i let my 730 ramp up ten before and stay on for twenty after. you can smell them going to sleep, the smell of chloroplast. peace
Brother Other Threads I Have Read That Have Used The 730's Reported A Lot More Stretch When Left On Longer Than 10 Minutes After Lights Out. You Experiencing This? :peace:

So the 730s are just for a shorter calm down to sleep light and sounds like something I may try, what do you think of adding something like 4 blue 430s in my 600hps hoods or Mabey 6 430s and 3 of the 730s and have the 430s run the full 12 hours.

When I say on my hoods I have a 4x3 rapter hood and it has tons of room inside them to mount more lights and it looks like you could mount those cobs just about anyway you want.

I do want to build these lights and could use some help, I think I have a power source on hand and not sure what else I would need to build a 6 build 430 range light. My power source is a 200 watt computer power source. Can you help me with a parts list?
