But those arent nutrients.

Thanks and yea I know they aren't nutrients couldn't think of the right word ... Long day. I was wondering because they both see to do a similar thing I just don't wanna put too much crap in the bucket that's unnecessary.

They both are unnecessary. I dont even use my hydroguard anymore.

Cold water is the best thing for your plants. 60F-66F. And proper nutrients at the right ratios.

Yeah unfortunately my water temps are higher than I'd like I can't afford a chiller for each bucket and ice bottles are pain in the ass so I have read from different sites it helps to use HG or CannaZ

Its helps but its not as fool proof as proper temperature.

In the winter my roots looks a lot healthier than in the summer.

Summer my water is mid to low 70s. Winter low 60s.

I dont use anything both seasons.

See about making your buckets recirculating. This eay you only have to pH one bucket. More water=less pH and EC swings and one chiller will handle it all.

How to you go from4 individual buckets to have them all from one reservoir? I'm pretty poor so it's low budget setup

Through the use of 1" polyethylene pipe. Its like 35 cents a linear foot and 1" bulkhead fittings $2 or $3 per.

Might want to use totes so you can fit more water, but thats up to you. It will add to the cost.

So you have a control bucket with a pump in it that pumps into a chiller which is piped to the individual buckets. Water drops and creates a waterfall for your dissolved oxygen. Simple as that really.

The 1" poly lines are at the bottom on the sides of the bucket which route to the control bucket.

Ok thanks for the input I may try that for next cycle I'm gonna ride this one out and see how it goes I've been doing outdoor soil grows past few years just wanted to increase production is how I got into have if few dwc'S. So you know of any sites or video that show how to transform an enclosed bucket system to a main reservoir style system I'm not the most handy person in the world unfortunately I'm better at smoking haha

Its pretty easy. Ill take some pictures of my setup. Actually think I did on my dwc to perpetual thread. Let me get a link to you when I get home as that thread is lengthy.

Thanks greatly appreciated I checked out one of your grows seems like you know your shot I'm pretty basic I've just been planting out in the woods for smoke and too learn a little but I'm hoping to grow my knowledge. I have auto flowers in my DWC but next cycle I'm gonna do reg plants and try my hand at SCrog. is it possible to do a SCrog with DWC ? I figure it's hard because you have to constantly change the water in buckets and if branches are trough the net how can you maneuver evryhing

Ill get you the rdwc pictures in a month once flower room clears out. Sorry.

Honestly though the single best thing I did to increase my yields was adding a screen and training the plants branches to be at an even level

Wow that's dope and your able to just lift the net pot with that attached when changing water or is that setup for the rdwc? Anyway thanks for all the help. I'm growing in 2 tents so I'm gonna have to make my screen smaller I was thinking just using 2 buckets with 1 screen that will ft inside the tent I have a 3x3x6 tent and 2x4x5 tent. Looks like you have a sweet setup I've just been slightly improving as I go I just have tents in my garage it works for now I'm just trying to make the most out of it. Taller tent has 400w hps/mh and 4 DWC buckets. Shorter tent has a mother and where I do my seedlings and clones. One day I may try to use this spare bedroom I have but I'm hesitant to cut holes in wall for ventilation etc. it only has one small window and one exterior wall. Look forward to seeing your rdwc. And thanks again for helping

Im using it for rdwc once i get it running. Havent ran rdwc yet. Been too busy growing plants and didn't have 4 females to put in. But im growing a lot more now to build up a supply for the switch.

And yes. It is strong enough, depending how heavy your plants are, to lift the pot by the screen.

Customize it to your fit, the measurements won't be the same though. Keep that in mind.

Hey we all start somewhere. I've been at it for almost 5 years now and have spent over 6k on this. But i havent bought weed in nearly 4 years and I was spending about 2-400 a month on it. So its paid for itself more than once so far.

I use a spare room in the basement. Keeps consistent temps year round + or - 10F. Dehumidifier is a must as the basement gets damp in the summer.

Patching holes is easy, just got the drywall to the studs and cut a new piece of dry wall, joint compound, joint tape and let dry then sand and repaint.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00E5JZOZS/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This is link to y current DWC setup. I have upgraded pump and stones but have question if I wanna switch it to rdwc can I get a tote for the res a submersible pump and connect hosing from the pump in the res to where my drain holes are? I wanna find easiest way that would involve the least amount of modification. Do rdwc still use air pumps and stones? I looked at a few setups forsake and it looked to me like I could just attach a hose to each drain hole and be on my way. Any input you have would be greatly appreciated. The more I think of rdwc the better it seems I just wanna find easiest way to make my setup work

As for holes in the wall. In my garage I use a dryer vent attached to my ent fan to cool the light the. The exhaust goes out thru the attic of my garage if I used my room in the house is have to cut holes to the outside through wall and vinyl siding one for Intake then one for exhaust and I really don't wanna do that j case I ever go to sell the place.
