Certain types of food should be available for free to whomever needs it. The most basic and healthy of foods like oats, grains, beans, fruits, should be free to those who cannot afford it.

That's an interesting opinion. I'm curious why you listed those foods?
That list wouldnt end there, just an example of foods that should be a part of anyone's diets. It also implies that I would not be for a bunch of free Ho Ho's or all you can eat Lay's potato chips. That kind of shit you can pay for yourself or do without.

This is what ebt should cover. Life necessities, not soda pops and ice cream. Makes for a healthier lifestyle. Hell, might even give them an advantage over all the fat asses with jobs who are slacking because of their unhealthy lifestyles. There are many other foods that should be included, but ice cream and soda pop and the like shouldn't be on that list.

If you can't afford to feed yourself, your neighbors shouldn't have to pay for your treats.

Pass.

For the same price, you can buy tons of bay shrimp for the price of a few measly lobster tails.

Over rated imo.
I feel the opposite, and that's okay. I don't want unhealthy food to be available to welfare recipients but there many food desert communities in our cities. Often unhealthy crap is the primary option in their neighborhood and they have very little mobility due to being broke as fuck. Nothing is more expensive than being poor.

what's thr matter?

too poor to buy seafood?

is that why you have to keep two separate sets of books in order to cheat on your taxes just to prop up your shitty business?

Speaking of wives, is yours pregnant yet? Or did you finally realize your dick can't produce? You're worthless in every manner.
how did your wife get by when you were in prison?

didn't you guys depend on handouts, since you were unable to do a thing to support her?

Really? Man, a good Lobster tail kills shrimp anytime. I even like crawdad more than shrimp. But I do prefer a good dungeness or blue crab to lobster.

Dungeness Crab I could eat all day. Best thing in the sea imo!

Wife and I had lobster tails the other night and I was wishing it was something else. Still very good, but not my preference. We meet up with some friends that live in Oregon every other year to go out crabbing/fishing so we keep a stock pile of sea goodies in one of our freezers.

For what it's worth, in my experience, when things are really fucked, and all you have is the taste of good food for comfort, it can be the one thing that can keep you from going insane. Deployment stuff. So I'm not against the goodies being free when you're poor and have nothing else good in your life. Diet should be balanced, though.

^^This says it best.

You are right. When times are hard, some comfort food is a go to strategy for, well, comfort.

The benefit is for food. The decision on how to use the benefit is up to the person receiving it.

There are plenty of healthy nutritional foods that are very tasty. Like the produce isle has all these things they call "fruit" that are just fucking loaded with sugars and wild ass flavors to boot.

Again, soda pop and the like are not what ebt should be paying for. You want to destroy your body then use your own money to buy that crap.

Yeah, but it's not about that. Like I said, if they have nothing else, why give a shit? Their taste buds will tell them what comforts them best. What you're talking about is, and I don't mean this offensively, but in my opinion, equivalent to oppression. It's like saying "poor people shouldn't be able to have what they want, and should stay in the shelter they live in." Maybe that's not what you mean, and I don't mean you're intending that, but that's pretty close to what that adds up to.

It's a quality of life issue, and a damaged and unfulfilled mind can cause more damage than saturated fat.
