making my own cool tube

would i be able to use this to make my own cool tube? or is there a special type of glass i have to use.

i was looking at ebay but they are same price as if i would by that thing from wal-mart. would the candle holder glass from wal-mart be okay?

Measure it and your bulb and consider some of the glass has to be overlapped by where the ducts mount to it. I think it's too short which will affect your light spread.

And should your fan stop while the lights on it would probably crack, those aren't made for really high heat like that and they're pretty thin usually. I don't know, you've seen it in person.

Me, I'd wait it out to get the bake-a-round from ebay.

Ive been hear myself . You will be much much happier when you buy a real cooltube and use anything from a 250w till a 1000w ballast

Those old oil lamps is what your looking for to make 1 to buy them second hand is nearly the price of a cooltube

If heats a issue then a cooltube is a must like myself . Using them does take some of the light intencity away also .
