Yeah, I understand the concept of vert and why it has the potential to yield well, but a lot of the productive setups I've seen are not only tall but they're also a lot wider than your tent. Basically tall trees with lots of branching trained through some sort of cylindrical cage. Given your restrictions, I could see one going vert with your setup with a smaller bulb. Horizontal in that tent with a 1000 should give you 32 pieces without much work.

I've also wondered about the downtime that's associated with vert. With a horizontal setup, the light just hangs with a one-in-one out plan for the plants below. It's a productive setup 365 days/year. There seems to be a lot of downtime with vert as the plants seem to need to grow into the space and be trained for a few weeks before they're flipped. I've never seen a perpetual vert setup. People seem to yield well in vert given a two month time frame but is it possible to squeeze 6 harvests in per year?

But I'm not here to critique and don't feel the need to defend what you're doing, I'm just curious about the silver mountains. IMO, the best examples have clusters of seed bracts rather than colas of dense flowers. Expect great yields with some piney, minty, funky aromas.

These were the best...

These were just good...

Nice plants.

Regarding your statements about vertical growing above, if you believe you've never seen a perpetual vert it's only because you didn't realize what you saw in my thread.

Slightly different angle, hard to see how much these have stretched in the last week alone since there isn't really a point of reference that's easy to use but I'm 6'0 and these are chest height already. Gonna have my hands full for sure.

400w tent is getting tall too but nothing I can't manage with some aggressive bending and selective pruning.

Bonus pic of my dog looking sad that I spend too much time with the plants and not enough with her when I get home every day

The 8 different shades of pink she's decked out in you can thank my girlfriend for

You get that vert going yet?
No not yet. Things are going well so I'm just going to let it be. The weather fluctuations here are a bitch. Right now cloning is making my head hurt. Nothing works for me. My next attempt will be plugs in the bathroom cupboard where the atmosphere stays the same. That's my the fuzz keeper. Diminished light cycle has ended the nanners.

I got one pack a few years ago. I had a few left after getting established in my new house. It's Bodhi man, seems like there's a keeper between 3 females. I just popped the rest of my Appalachian Thunderfuck and a pack of Congo spice. The veg tent is shut down so lets hope my clones take since the fuzz and ssdd moms are either stripped bare or in flower.

Did some bending (and breaking) night before last as the first maneuver towards a well filled-out screen. I realized that this is a weird looking donut now that things are getting tied to the screens. There's a part of me that wants to take a page out of tystik's book and just turn it into a 3-walled scrog with the front wall remaining open for access, but that's a lot of wasted wall space and also puts the bulb a little farther away than I would like it -- ideally I want it as close as possible without burning or bleaching. The other option (aside from doing some very basic tying and then essentially leaving it alone, i.e. the lazy method) is to simply turn it into an octagon by dropping a piece of screen at an angle across the corners and then still leaving a bit of room at the front for access to the tent. That way it'll still be a donut with a bite missing as it is now...99% sure I'll just finish up by doing this but still considering my options. Kinda tough to see exactly what to do yet just because they're still not quite done stretching, but you also have to have some faith when you're bending and twisting and tying and remember that in a day or two things will look very different than they do the day you start tying them down, and a week later it will be filling out properly if it was done well. I'll post some pics here in a bit when I get home so y'all can see what I mean.

You seen his Acapulco Gold he dropped recently? Very interesting...I'm a HUGE fan of Mexican genetics, nothing gets me more excited than some big ol spearminty donkey dicks from a nice highland mex variety. I bet that would be phenomenal in a vert setup if trained appropriately.

As long as it's not too much of a runner.

I need to stop being lazy and frame that half-ass screen out to 3x3 since I don't want to stretch that 400w all the way across the 4x4 space. That's basically what I'm doing now already naturally while training the plants, but it wouldn't hurt to have a clearly defined outer boundary. So far the horizontal plants have stretched very manageably so far with the Goji definitely the most vigorous of the bunch (in every way, actually, which makes me sad that I don't have more than one). Definitely excited to see where these things end up...

From my experience a few years ago running some old Mexi genetics you can get away with 11 or 12 wks with some of the highland stuff (HOG comes to mind) but the really heady shit always ends up being a 4-5 month flowering endeavor doesn't it? Maybe I need to hold off on the summer run except for one big ass long-flowering equatorial sativa or something and let it just take over the whole room...might be a fun time.

Been a busy week, a little lacking on updates. Everything's looking good, did some more twisting and tying in the vert tent and starting to see the beginnings of a solid "wall canopy." Ended up spreading things out to where I have a bit less room to work but am utilizing way more of the wallspace so I'm not wasting any light or room. Horizontal tent looking good as well, I have some work to do in terms of getting that canopy a bit more even now that stretch is done. I'm working late tonight but I'll try to get some pics tomorrow for an update. Hope everybody is well.

PS- I am so tired of being physically allergic to pot. I'm seriously considering buying a full-zip containment suit for when I'm poking around in the tents because I get huge welts everywhere if I even brush up against the plants. 7 or 8 years ago I didn't even notice it, now it's getting worse every year, I don't get it.

I'd like to think so but it seems like as I get older my body just likes pot less and less. It's weird as hell man.

The 400w tent is out of god damned control, I did some serious bending and breaking tonight to get it all in order. I'll get a shot in a day or two when it's all settled down. Also been way cold after I thought spring had already arrived, nearly as warm lights off as it is lights on (which has been hitting as low as 68-69 on the front of the vert canopy). We shall overcome...

Couple crappy photos...

At a month from flip today, roughly 3 weeks in to actual flowering. Plants told me to back off on the dosage a bit, started seeing some signs of too much N. These things are a damned mess still with a real lack of overall training, no excuses really but I've just not had my heart in it for a number of reasons. Been a rough couple of weeks. Anyways, we shall overcome as always. Enjoy the shitty pics, I'll try to get better ones next time around. Can't see it in the pics but everything is super greasy and trich coverage is very heavy across the board already...that Goji in particular is something special for sure. Can't wait to see that finish up.
