My 2nd Grow: 4x4 tent in garage, 7 seeds of Skunk

Whats up? I too am growing for my first time in a tent and I just wanted to ask a few questions if you don't mind. I am using a 5x5 tent with 10 plants and I have run into some humidity issues. I also grow in the garge, but I use COCO COIR and run a drain to waste, which means I water them, then most of the water runs out the bottom of the pots, which I reclaim and then throw out. that is the only difference I see between our two grows anyways.

- do you run into humidity problems?
- have you experienced any powdery mildew on your leaves?

Great grow looks like you are doing very well. I just wanted to see what, if anything you do about humidity. oh and a tip, instead of using your space heater to control the heat, get a dehumidifier off craigs list or bite the bullet and buy one, they emit heat and will warm your room in the night time, and definitely shouldn't raise your daytime temps too much. but the low humidity is a must if you want to keep the room below 55%. maybe my garage is just super humid, but this has really helped me a lot. I am growing Kush varieties so they are more succeptible to mildew and pests, but the reward should be golden. have a good day and happy harvests!

Yeah I ran into humidity issues once they started to flower, going into 5 gallon smart pots and having to take a gallon of water or more.

Besides the humidity issues I had... I couldn't keep it warm enough and I dont want to have to dump or worry about having to drain my dehumidifier if I got one. Thats what I was seeing I would have to do and I'm not always home every day to mess with them or too tired to work in the room.

If the heater costs too much on my PG&E bill next month I'll look for alternatives.

Nice, same sitiuation as me. I also had an issue with cold night time temps, and I use the same method with a small space heater but when humidity got too high I definitely appreciated having the dehumidifier. I may try some autos next time but really like to turn around from the clones I'll continue to watch your thread happy growing!!

I'll need to order a garder heating tube for my next grow. Not sold in the US and I belive it has much lower wattage then a home heater. Need to look back into that.

Finally got a smell of the Skunk last night ...it was like a fruity punch type smell. Maybe I was trippin but it smelled fruity while Pyramid Anesthesia was like a grape type smell. Once again the Fast & Vast is the stinky skunk smell in all the close ups lol

Had to pull them away from the wall a tad to prevent the bud from touching the walls. JEEZE they are smelling amazinggggg! I love the Fast & Vast skunk smell ...but between the Skunk and Ana ...whew I can't wait!!! Few more weeks to go!!

Looking great! If you're having humidity issues I would say drawing air out of the room instead of in is your best bet for lowering RH without a dehumidifier and help regulate temps. Also another trick is raising your temps to 80's this will help dry up some of the water. I flooded 30 gals of water in my grow room humidity at 98%. After I got all the water up I raised temps RH went down a lot.

Quick note on dehumidifier they sell a little giant condensation pump at Menards $35 (if you have any where you're at) that you drain your dehumidifier into outside of your tent and run a line from that outside or to a drain somewhere. With the little giant you can run the drain hose up hill or wherever. Lasts years. In my tent with hot interior and cold exterior it would start raining in my tent. Shit was crazy. We look like we have a similar setup so if you have any questions feel free to ask. I have my environment down to a tee with the touch of a couple buttons.

One last thing and sorry if this has been stated in your thread. Do you have ducting running through your lights? If you do and its not insulated ducting that is 85% of your problem.

RH is a secondary problem I feel with cold being first. The temps were dropping to the low 60s (62*F) and raising to the mid 80s.

Growing in a garage isn't the ideal place with 2 vents on each side letting air and outside temps dropping to mid 40s.

Wife doesnt want my tent in our room so it's my only option. I went with the only space that was the least amount of work. I'm going to look into building a insulated room within the garage and that should solve the room environment issues. I only hope my PG&E bill didn't go through the roof running the external heater.

Heater was the quickest and easiest way to solve the cold and RH issues. I'll finish this grow and get a garden heating tube next grow.

Dude we are more alike than i thought, ny wife is a pain in the ass when it comes to herb. I just tell he all the time, "this is my only hobby, and i gain tons of knowledge from it". I also tell her that all the lies she has heard about bud are exactly that, lies, and by challenging me growing is the same as enforcing some bullshit she heard growing up. I also do not drink except maybe once every 4-6 months. She eventually caved in and is cool with the grow. No where near wanting to be involved, but hey beggers cant be choosers. I would love to get her involved. But its to the garage i go.

She long past given up on me and smoking. I'm not stopping for anyone. I told her that before we started together. Not going anywhere.

I drink every now and then at social events as if I smoke it smooths me out and makes me dull at parties in some peoples eyes. While if I drink ....oh god. Turn down for what!? I pretty much have 0 filters and women are beautiful LOL..good lookin me and alcohol spells danger LOL

But she doesnt want guests to see and be in my business and is worried if her friends children come over they would get curious as well. I too have it locked away where its not accessible to guests as well.

I get pretty angry over people treating weed like heroin or crack..ignorance beyond belief. I'm a perfectly active contributing member of society that helps many people on a daily basis. I have a family that I love and treat with the utmost respect and would never damage what I have built around that love. Glad that your girl is able to move more to a understanding point of view instead of being upset over it.

Haha like i said very similar. I am irish and scottish, i definitely like going to parties and am very sociable when drinking, almost too sociable. Always have a good time but there are occassions where i am thinking the next day, man i hope i didnt do anything stupid ya know. I too have a good job and my life is 100% about my family. My wife has been great about the growing and is awesome all around so im happy that we came to terms. Same stuff with neighbors kids, i keep the garage locked up tight. People who hate herb for stupid reasons are no good, i stay far away from social interactions with them because i cant entertain views of close minded people, its all about family and good times over here!

I am starting to have issues fitting them all back in without damage! I did alright tonight but the boot trays they are on are giving me issues as they are so heavy after being watered.

Gave Skunks 1,2 and 3 a 1 tsp. of Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom and molasses. Lets hope they like that. I know Skunk 3 has been my test child and pushing her really made her shoot up in size but also taking her the longest to start flowering and seems to stretch? Thoughts?

All three Fast & Vast will need a watering tomorrow from when I picked them up.

My job continues tomorrow night....

You dont want to be taking the mout everytime, evwntually something will break. I use washing machine tubs for my catch basins and you could fit one in that tent just fine they are about 18 bucks. Grow is looking awesome.

Looked into the drill pump and that's freaking cool! I've been keeping them in the tent for the most part though but decided to take them out for slight defoliation. To be honest I should've left them in.. Darn Blue Dream strain had me wanting to do things lol.

Do you have a image of the tubs? What I'm seeing on google isn't what I think I need.

Washing machine overflow pan. Thats nifty! So what do you do? Use the drill pump to pull water from the tub directly from the bottom of the pot as it starts to flow out?

Zspy check out my grow that's what I'm using for my runoof. Also plants r looking great brotha and the fruity smell u r getting from ur plants is very common with autos almost every auto I have grown has a skunks fruit smell too it almost like pineapple grape
