Cooling air from pump....

"well it does work this is how i cool my dwc buckets" theres a big difference in cooling a garden hose in a mini fridge and cooling air in a tiny airline in a cooler of ice water. it works great here in the summer,, and drop frozen bottles in the icewater to make the cubes last longer.... You filled this thread with bad information

I dunno, I don't own three chillers for nothing, the best all around solution is a water chiller .
 
oh it was refrenced to the original poster that said he doesnt want to buy a water chiller. its like someone saying "i wanna save money and buy a cheap car" then someone replying "buy a lamborgini there the best"

Ive seen buddies run copper for their rezs and air pumps, coiling them up and around your ac ahould work fine. GL

I am testing now. Some are asking why I don't run air pump outside closet and the answer is the noise. I need to keep my grow as stealth as possible. The grow closet gets up to the 80's and that is the temp of the air being pumped into the res. The cooler the air I figure the cooler the water will be.

Does anyone know how liquid air is made?
Air is compressed and a heat exchanger reduces the ambient temperature. The air is then released into a chamber cooling the air even more. (Not going into how the valving is configured)
This process is repeated until the air temperature reaches -320F This is the critical temperature at which all air (N, O, Ar) becomes liquid.
And yes the other gasses as well not mentioned.
Anyone ever let air out of a tire?
In conclusion bringing in cooler air will help but how much is another question.
As for tubing length... shouldn't effect the pumped air temperature much, do to it's plastic poor thermal conduction and the amount of time the air spends traveling through the tubing. Also the air is still not released until it reaches the airstone.
My tubes are warmer at the pump but considerably cooler before they enter the bucket.
A short tubing length is IMPORTANT more for pressure loss over distance since the smaller the surface area of the bubble the more DO imparted into the water.

My advice...Do what you have to control water temp and in the mean time plan and save up for a chiller.
Time is money and so is good crop yield!

Its entertaining and thats really all this forum is good for.
