GOP propaganda has been very effective at making you a dumb asshole.

why shouldn't someone who works 40 hours a week be bale to support themselves without waiting in a welfare line?
Because they agreed to work for the amount of money they agreed to work for. It shouldn't be a fucking surprise to them that they can't buy shit with their income. They should get another job and change their living situation, cut their expenses.

Expecting everything and everyone to be equal is naive.

Some people work harder or smarter and make more money than others. Some people develop a skill that is worth more to employers so they get paid more.

So when you took a job at mcdonalds you assumed you were all set, right? No need for anything else, Ronald was going to pave your way? That's all you'd ever need?

Who said that?

We're just saying that people who work full time shouldn't need welfare to make ends meet while there is indeed more than enough wealth in the system for everyone to make ends meet and the top few percent is taking in all of the economic growth greedily.

Here we go again. Your far fetched allegations on RIU are what keep everyone laughing dude, including myself. You're like the modern day Robin Hood, except you're obsessed with kid fucking and racism. Well, maybe Robin Hood was down with that shit too! I don't know.

You're higher than me then. No one on earth ever assumed working at McDonald's was going to be enough to let them live comfortably.

Working full time at a Mcdonalds, unless a manager, will never be a good job. It is a beginner job.

Companies are about profit. Most people operate on a profit model unless it is for friends and family.

Prices of gas and goods going up increases price in the product. Labor costs and building costs can raise prices too.

Everyone wants a piece of the pie. In distribution every player takes a cut. Price rises down the chain to allow profit at each step.

If something starts eating at the profits it is natural for the business to look for cuts they can make.

So you're arguing that increasing wages will increase prices. Using McDonald's as an example.

Have you ever heard of Denmark?

When the working class has more money to spend, the amount of goods and services in an economy being sold also increases, leading in turn to increased hiring.

I'll look into it. Hopefully that is how it shakes out.

What would happen to employees already making above minimum wage? Employers wont want to raise wages above the minimum as they adjust to the new cost of labor.

And you said your husband make $13.00 and hour. Is that part time? If so, I hope he's going to school or something because if that's his income you then are carrying the freight or living off your parents. Maybe that's the way you want it.
