Hello all! Now I've been into grow journal for a long time ever since I started growing 7 years ago, I always loved to catalog and explain my grows and processes as a weed growing year book to look back on and admire, as well as for others I know personally, or for randoms within the this website, to learn from.
With that said, My current grow journal has become way to big. In the sense of a bunch of sensless talking and a bunch of people asking questions or putting in suggestions, etc. Now theres nothing wrong with this, and I actually love to get others opinions whether they coincide with mine or not. But, I find it hard for others especially noobs or just lazy people in general (which most smokers are) to read a 7 paged thread or 100 pages thread for that matter. I find most people just skipping through to the end or to certain pics that caught their eye, rather than reading the whole thing, which I dont blame them, no one wants to waste an hour or so of straight reading to find out its something your not interested in after all...
To the point:
Now when I first started my journal here (just have to specify this is not my first journal, its just my first journal since I've made Rollitup.org my home.) I planned on going back to the very first post, and re-editing it and adding a table of contents. However, I noticed after a day or so the editing button is removed and the post is finalized.
So what I wanted to do, not only for myself, but for everyone who comes across my journals is to be able to read a table of contents of some sort. For example, when someone comes to the thread, they will be pushed into the front page, unless of course they click the last page instantly. But, lets say they click on the thread, even if the click on the last page from the get go, and it seems like something they might be interested in, to go to the front to start reading, and notice there is a table of contents. Now what I mean by a table of contents, is a quick summary of what is where. For example. Something like this:
The start of the grow:
Germinating the soon to be mothers:
Page 1 post # 6:
Link: (hyper link displayed here as to not be to much random text due to the URL)
(hyper link directing right to the said post if clicked.)
The cloning:
Page 2 Post # 1
Link: (hyper link)
Flowering:
page 4 post # 6
Link: (hyper link)
ETC....
So that way people can instantly go to what matters and read as if I posted the updates 1 right after the other, and detouring themselves from a bunch of random talk, or beneficial talk that one just may simply not be interested in. You see what I mean? I think doing this will not only be beneficial for my own journals, but for anyone's threads in general here!
Please if possible, someone Private message me explaining how this might be possible, or at the least have a moderator talk to me to see what can be worked out. I know this should be very possible.
I'm hoping there will be a more elaborate system for something like this, however, if possible I could achieve this if my posts can be unlocked to only me (my post only unlocked to myself) for editing at all times. At least the very first post within my thread. Maybe put a permanent edit button on my posts? Any suggestions or constructive criticisms is greatly appreciated, thanks to those who actually took the time to read this and possibly help!
Regards,
