White residue and floating bits in RDWC.

Whilst completing a res change in my RDWC system I noticed lots of white "stuff" floating about in the water, looked like old roots but in tiny pieces.

When I touched my roots (they are lovely and white) I noticed a white sort of residue on my hand... It's not gunky, smelly, just looked like watered down white paint on my finger tip.

Also noticed a slight browning of roots between the water line and the net pot? Not anywhere else though.

Any idea what this could be?
I change water weekly but have only just started using hydroguard? Literally 5 days ago I added some. Could it be this product breaking down the old roots?

Using -
canna Aqua vega
Cannzyme
Hydroguard

Ph 5.7
EC 1.7 total

Water temp gets a little high, around 25degrees... But nothing more.

A couple of the net pots weren't filled completely to the top.. But I mean a couple millimetres.

All buckets had the white "stuff" will get photos tomorrow.

All buckets are insulated as well so 99.9% sure it isn't a light leak, but will double check everything again.

It would take more than just a few millimeres to get any problems like this. If your ph is ok, then I would either check for light leaks, or just wrap my rez in some Reflectix (reflective bubble wrap). Then watch rez temps.

The cooler the better. Roots absorb the dissolved oxygen in the water better at lower temperatures. 65F is great, but 60F is better. If you aren't using chems, maybe try some hygrozyme.....if you're using dutch zone or whatever, a cap full of bleach will clear all that shit up real quick...

Your EC is super duper high no? Im doing well with hydroguard in RDWC but thats constantly moving water.. Maybe thats my saving grace.

I have no clue witch lead me to this thread... I just started using hydrogaurd this week and there is this weird whitish sludge. My first thought is that the beneficial bacteria are colonizing.. Any body have any more thoughts
