Buds Drying Up And Dying On The Branch

I wanted to see if anyone can help me out or if anyone has experienced a similar problem.

About 4 weeks into flowering some of the lower buds started drying out/ hardening off and dying on the branch. This slowly spread up the plant. Some plants were virtually all destroyed by harvest time, on some about half the buds were salvageable. Others somewhere in between. The buds that survived looked amazing.....good crystal formation and tight, dense nugs.

My next round is showing evidence of the same problem and trying to decide how to treat them. In veg and early flower, the of the fan leave curl up from the sides of the leaves, not the pointed ends. I will try to get a picture of that as well.

Here are a few pictures from the recent harvest. Hope you all can see on here. The tops of the buds look great, dense and crystally. The bottoms are hard, dead and lack any crystal structure.

Any thoughts/ experience/ advice would be very appreciated.

Thanks!

Possible toxic salt build up from your description but pics of the plant might be more helpful.
Salt buildup would be my first guess causing lock out. You could be over watering or have high humidity. that would cause fungus, root rot and diseases. Maybe you have a bug working its way up the plant?

Except the op doesn't mention having fungus, root rot or diseases??

whats goig on with the buds looken normal to me looks abit seedy down the bottom but apart from that its fine

Just looks like its from seeds, and maybe a little rot but it could be the lighting in the one spot.
Either way Congratulations!

Looks to me like you've got a pollen problem, not a grow problem.

The top of those buds look fine because they don't appear to be pollinated, while the lower portion looks seeded as fuck.

Seeds are great, unless they're hermi seeds.

Best of luck.

she is seedy as hell

Just to clarify, there are no seeds on the buds at all. Certainly not being pollenated, sorry, but the the best pictures/ light.

Seems to be a fungus/ mold/ bacteria. Though there is not really an visible mold, powdery mildew or rot. Rather the buds are drying up and hardening off. Feel almost petrified.

Thanks again for the input.
