This is part of the problem Hogbud was referring to, well-known member does NOT equal great grower with knowledge ...
the beauty of knowing a few simple truths tells you right away if they know there stuff,

take high PK bloom boosters, total waste of money if you are in a container (a tad more is needed in hydro) even the CEO of DynaGro will tell you this LOL

The whole flush at the end thing, any one that says this has no real clue how plants function

the fan makes the stem stronger nonsense, there is seriously a lot of bad info out there and I know for a fact that there are a lot of good growers here you just gotta seek em out

lot of folks think Uncle Ben is an old miserable drunk, none of which is true by the way but he is a freakin farmer that has made a living at it for decades, dude knows his shit LOL when it comes to plants and nutes and such

just got a new gavita pro i'm testing out, totally off from the t-5 usage, but it is the latest rage. Puts out twice the P.A.R of a HPS.

Hog how often if ever do you change out your T-5 tubes? Sorry if I missed it but do you use equal amounts of red and blue spectrum, for instance 3 and 3 and 2 uvb?

So kind of a middle spectrum then. I have been running 4-6200 and 4-2700 (i think lol) for side lighting on basically the same angle as yours. In another thread you had said my buds were whispy because i wasn't using them properly. What would you suggest? I do keep them at about a 1.5 to 2.5' away just to get the coverage. I will give what you say a try my first grow in the fall. I started out using a 400 then switched to T5's then to a 600, then to both lol. Always like the T5's fyi. Also i have a hydro setup so may be different? And yes quantity is important to me as well as quality! I would like to think the ultimate goal in all of this is to achieve both!

I got good connections and got mine for wholesale cost, But they go from $450 on up.
Ya thats what I've seen em for. Keep us posted as to how they work! I haven't checked the electrical wholesalers yet but pretty sure they would only sell the complete fixture types with the built in ballast.

Oh and hog i have my lights setup with the T-5's on the sides (still above plants) with the 600 in the middle. So do you think I would get more thc production by running just the T5's? That I guess is my question after a long stone induced ramble.

No not a middle spectrum, they have a blue and a red peak right where plants want it unlike HPS that is mostly green

and IME whispy buds can be genetics but most usually is a temp problem
