northern lights

Ok been having soil issues with my babies so today I decided screw the starter soil and dropped em into ffof as its all I had I figure its better to have the growth burned a little than non existant. So I put em in thier final pots with ffof. We will see what happens. Still kinda small for the boots and hot dirt but bb it lets see what happens.20140331_084209.jpg20140331_084448.jpg damn little turd are like two weeks old. Def not on schedule as far as growth and I simply cant let them stay in that shit dirt as they are fem and dont wanna add anymore stress even though they p rolly gonna go twelve twelve as soon as the third node comes. Maybe earlier depending on where my already flowering bagseed is in growth. Grab a seat guys this should be interesting.

That happened to me with a Pineapple Express auto,I didnt think it was going to make it then boom it started growing and really took off.Its funny that how some really take off and others seem to not be growing then end up having to get super cropped to slow them down lol

I plan to only top these lady once considering its my first time attempting it or any training other than lst which they will also have to endure. Hopefully they will blow ip now that they are in quality soil and from what I read they do well in hot soil. Maybe not optimal but they dont seem to show burn as easy so ill be pray in.

I done a seed in the middle of january. It started real slow and done nothing for a few weeks. Now it's about 20"x20"x23"h with 14 snips rooted and another four from her in the bin. When your seedling gets the correct root structure it will take off. This is under 80w daylight CFL, 20/4d.

Mine under a 175w mh a foot and a half away with other plants around as well. These are the first actual genetics I've ever done and spent like 60 on the seeds so it cant be taken as a loss. I hAve to flower these lil shits even if they herm on me which I dont see why there would just preparing for the worst hoping for he best and showing them all the love I can. Bagseed is blowing up and I expect about 250g from it or more based on the 14 bud sites development this early into flower

Hey ballin, what brand of starter dirt are you using, and what size pots you have your babies in? I'm germin' some northern light seeds in tap water right now. I'll be planting them in fox farm light warrior tomorrow, and once they out grow the beer cups they will go into their final threes gallon pots with ffof. My first grow was a disaster. I made a number of mistakes and all my seedlings developed root rot. So, I'm starting over.

Yeah I dropped mine directly Into ffof. Not ideal but they were already on second node and the mg starter soil was hold in wAter to long so I put the I to thier final three gallon pots. Not good for roots to have that much room to I plan to gently loosen soil arou d root ball and finesse the dirt out of the ball and replant so the roots are slightly tighter once they are older to develop a stronger root base. As long as im carefully it should be equal to transplant Into progressively larger pots. Hopefully they will make it as they say this strain is a trooper. Feel free to watch the grow and you might leArn from my mistakes to make yours stronger. I have a good two weeks on yours so you can also compare and so can I and maybe if we work together we can get the optimal grow down pat so we ca master this strain and get the most yeild because I I tend to make the strongest my momma as I have three seeds left as well as nine freebies from nirvana so I plan to ha e a baby forrest in my 4x4x6.5 . Once I get some heAlthy clones I plAn to have eight mini plants scroged u der my hps. Its a small open that will grow with time but I plan to use northern lights to the first two or three harvest then switch to kaya gold with a few Nl mixed in. After a few of them im think I. Blue mystic and cross it with Nl then cross that with kaya as to get the strong stable nl genes with kaya gold high resistance to climate changez and diseases. Depending how that new self made strain goes im thinking cross that with big bud to get the most yeild with strongest tolerance for mistakes. Got me a baby plan goin eh? Feedback on how you guys think my gene cross idea will go is much appreciated and expect every step to be posted as im likely to need advice. Im also plan ing to make quite a few Cree led strips to line the sides of the tent as well as a few rope light cree to position u der the plants and turn the popcorn into golf balls. What you guys think?

Well explain the right direction then. That's the point in asking bro. I knowing need advice just trying to get the ball rolling. Im interested in developing my own strain tailored to my needs.

Yea, I think that's what happened to mine. I transplanted too soon into 3 gallon pots of promix hp and the medium took a week to dry out so the roots weren't getting the oxygen they needed. That's one of a number of mistakes I made. It sucks because I had two months invested in them only to have to start over. Oh well, live and learn. I hope not to make the same mistakes twice. Anyhow, I'm going to subscribe to this thread and I'll keep up on your grow too. Peace!

Post yours and pm a link ill try and figure out how to subscribe and keep up with yours to as id like a comparison to see how im doing. Never hurts to have someone with the same strain growing. I dont see many growing northern lights which is why I chose it. Figured it would get attention being different and possibly more help if I hit a snag

Where are the Northern Lights from you guys are growing? I have 1 from vision growing that's one week old. Growing in ffof. I've read many times it's best not to transplant Autos. To just start in their finals pots. But Ives also read from people they have transplanted without any problems. I'd really like to hear more opinions on it. Here's my NL auto 1 week old. Happy growing yall. Feel free to follow my journal

Mines not auto. RegulAr fem. I will follow though as yours are a week younger than mine but are more developed. Could be cause of it being auto or because I had issues. Either way ill keep up. Good to have more to compAre to. We also cN see a general yeild difference in auto and reg fem as well as the time from seed to bowl. This is getting more an more fun !

20140401_062556.jpg20140401_062610.jpgnothing amazing but they seem to be doing great in the ffof more growth in 24 hours than the past week! Seem to be uhh si bi moved a lol closer to the vert bulb. They seem to be very resilient and so far definatly would suggest this for a first grow. Nirvana outdid them selves this time ut seems. Hope ubget a strong momma outta this. I figure two months left on bagseed so these lady's wil be begged the whole time. Lst and topped. Goin for half a pound each lol

Oh pickpocket that looks like what mine were in and it caused me bad issues id get them in a regular soil them dont seem to munching soil. Mine went into ocean forrest and have done quite nicely! Zero growth in that seedb start mix ocean forrest has shown amazing growth with no transplant shock time these little niggers are very forgiving it seems.

Its obvious you know something of plants, as you have quite a selection on that bench, but why take a new born plant and dump her tender roots into a 'hot' hard soil (FFOF)
knowing full well, that the plant is gonna get damaged possibly beyond repair ..?
Look toward improving the lights and ventilation, and you will at least grow something, noobie or not!
progressive pics may prove me wrong?
