Clones not rooting

Trackr

I've got 10 clones in root riot cubes in a humidity dome for about two weeks now, and none of them have rooted.

At first, I kept misting them every day but I read somewhere that if you keep doing that the plants won't grow roots because they'll get all the water they need from the spraying.

So, instead, I opted to stop misting them and I began to water them like a regular plant.

Ever since then, the clones have been absolutely fine without any misting and it's been about 4 days.

So, logically, I assumed that that must mean that they have rooted, but unfortunately that has not happened.

Also, one of the clones seems to have stem rot.. or something. The stem is soft like jello and it can't support the leaves.. although strangely, the leaves look good.

Another thing about the leaves is that some of them have turned completely yellow, but the rest seem fine.

What do I do!? My mother plant is already into flowering so I'm getting worried because I can't clone any more.

Please help!

Im not good at cloning. most of mine take about 4 weeks, I've been told it might be because I run heavy sativas but idk I've seen tropical sats that grow like vines and propagate themselves along the ground...in any case.. if they are yellowing and not going crunch, you should back lights off to keep chlorophyll until the plant is able to gather n through roots. foliar feeding can help as well...
they don't need much water and the stems will easily rot/mold. I wet the medium beforehand, and dont water the clone for about 2 weeks I mist every now and again during that 2 weeks, kinda have to play it by feel.. after that the clones barely have roots (for me). i stop misting and water from then on, making sure it's completely dry and slight wilting wont hurt it.. within a week new growth starts to appear and the roots are forming nicely.. that 4th week I start putting it under real light and they're done...
I use my soil mix to clone.. about 78°..

Look to the ezy cloner or make your own for cloning fun too.. 95% success rate consistent too

The stem rot like that sounds like that cube is too wet. When the media stays too wet the stem will collapse right where the stem meets the dirt line. Clones root quickest when the media is drying out. So spray rarely and give them a chance to root. Be patient. BigSteve

I also have 10 clones at 2 weeks that havent really taken.
So i just tossed 4 in some water and have been praying.

Get CloneTek cloning solution, it will root pretty much anything, been using it for a month without a fail. Follow the tutorial on the info page they have on skunk labs hc will help with success rate. U can get it off the site but i ordered it off amazon.

If the leaves are yellowing the clones are taking nutrients from them which IME is usually about when my cuts start rooting.

I agree with other posts that your cubes are too wet and it is causing some damping off.

Agree with urban, I don't even check my cubes for roots til I start seeing yellow on some leaves. That's usually when I give a mild dose of nutes.
I quit using rockwool cubes due to probs with dampening off. I switched to the jiffy tomato starter pucks, and absolutely love them. I use them for both my hydro and soil grows.

i would have tossed them by now. i suppose they cold still get going, but just get some others and start those too, just in case. i mist the first couple days, and that's it.

SubLBC does thousands of rockwool clones every month without any dampening off, might just be the grower not the product. I use rockwool with no probs either, and they never turn yellow when the roots show.

If you pick up ur clones and theres no excess water they arent too wet. Of course unless ur using abnormally large cubes for rooting.

I wrap my cube in plastic wrap (tape around) to keep it from evaporating and getting cold.

Success of the cuttings has more to do with the mother when chopped than cloning techniques. Cuttings with starchy stems will have a much higher chance of success than not starchy, for example. I read it helps to lower the P of the mother before taking cuttings because P deficiency tells the mom to stop focusing energy on new growth, instead storing sugars as starches in the stems and roots.

After taking the cuttings, give them some P so they can use the stem starch for new growth.

you shouldn't need to mist or anything for the first three days or so if your using rr's and a dome.

you want the cube to slowly dry out a bit to force the cutting to make roots.

they prob all have stem rot, u only water them once maayybbee twice but only 1 time the first week and u shouldnt have to mist them use a air stone in a cup of water under the dome....did u use clone gel? wat type of dome is it in?

I've had nearly 100% strikes pre-dipping in a mild bleach and using cheapo rooting hormone & vermiculite (the fine grade)
..I use a dome and those 6pack vegetable tray thingies....it takes 7-10 days max...I use a VERY mild nute as soon as I see roots popping out the bottom...

Again, while rot is a function of moisture if you use vermiculite and sterilize with bleach, root rot is close to impossible, esp if the cut was clean

The only thing that matters is how good the product your using in the medium. A product like CloneTek you dont need to mist at all and you wont need a sealed dome. It was the first product of skunk labs hort that i used, they gave me a free sample, even cuts off little vegging plants that were almost to weak to shove in rockwool rooted in 11 days. I didnt even use a dome at all just left them in the veg room. i feel like i should get paid to tell people about clonetek. cloning is easy.. good luck

wow u didnt use a dome? what was ur humidity and temp?
the temp was just normal in the grow room around 73-80. and the humidity was 40ish.. i pretty much just did what they said on their website. didnt mist em or anything, n got super thick roots everywhere within couple weeks..

i hate those cubes. i prefer aero machines. it's much easier. ph 5.8-6.2 add a small amount of cloning solution and an air stone. near 100% everytime. when a nice root structure forms u can put in soil cups easily.

Never worked for me would always end up with slime everywhere even with bleach cleaning. the stuff i use now is even eaiser then working aero system anyways damn near fail proof.
