Inexpensive LED'S for a small grow

I bought a really cheep one I like it for veg .http://www.ebay.com/itm/300W-LED-Gr...3115391?pt=US_Hydroponics&hash=item43c123277f . my opinion they are all just as good . those 5 watt led are brand new . other company saying they wont last long . idk if that's true or just a company bashing other company . you could buy 2 of the ones I posted it veg nice , grows faster then t5 2 times as bright for the same power input . any choice you make I think they are all just as good .

Christmas Lights for tress are even cheaper, but yeah the more money you throw the better the yield
 
I posted above about the one led for 134 no I have not done a full cycle . but I can tell you they work well for veg . and for flower they will work buy not as good as hps for yield . but led do produce a quality harvest . suggest checking out you tube videos hps vs led . if your smoking this and not reselling it then led will work just fine . no worries about heat or that 500 dollar electric bill every month .

If you wanna know how it performs, I run half gallons 12-12 from seed. Usually takes about 100-120 days from seed to harvest, then 2 weeks for cure. I've got about 10 bags stuffed in there, plus some smaller than half a gallon pots for breeding. That means I plant every 10-13 days, and I pull an average of 13 (sometimes 5-7, sometimes 22-30) grams every 2 weeks or so.


Remember to look at the actual power draw; Mine says it has an actual power draw of 130w, my friend let me borrow his power meter and I measured 122-127 consistently for a week or so. That 600 has an actual draw of 300, I'd be willing to bet it pushes 280-290w.

Also please be advised I am a huge LED noob, this is my first investment into led, though I do have some COBs on the way. I have no input about any other model, but the one Flora posted up looks very well built. I'm looking into upgrading this guy perhaps at the end of the year, but it's kept me supplied thus far so I'm not tossing it out just yet. For a first timer's LED, i'd say give it a go.

The one's I'm running a full cycle with right now are a decent light for the price, a good design. A "450W" fits nicely in a 2x4 cabinet I'm running, it's a rectangular design, 10.5"x33" so the coverage in that space is great. They pull actual draw 200W on veg switch, 300W on veg+bloom. Check out my sig (first post includes a link to them on e-bay) grow. Last pic update they were 40 days from seed, 3 plants in a 2x4x5.5' DIY cabinet, full details in the thread. Can't vouch for the flowering capabilities in that the run I used them for flowering was a disaster environment-wise (my f'ups) yet I still got a decent yield, just not what I think it could have done had I controlled the environment better. The veg capabilities are great.
 
The reason am going LED is because i am trying to avoid a high monthly bill. Am planning on setting up an aeroponics system like this one

Thats the one am actually going to use but instead of having 32 plants am looking to have 16.. but who knows.. if i can come up with extra capitol i may get more seeds and do 32.

The system pretty much measures 2x4.
And the reason am looking for full cycle leds is because am going all autos on the aeroponics site.

The person accomplished 2lbs from it and as a noob to led's and aeroponics am hoping to do atleast 1lb.

You might want to scale down your plans, starting out with aero is a mistake, try a hempy grow or a dwc and learn how to mix nutes and how to control ph and res temps first, then try aero, the grow you are trying to replicate was done by an experienced hydro guy using hid, a vipar 600 isn't putting out 600 watts and you won't get a pound with it, 8 or so ozs maybe if you don't run into the problems that every other hydro guy ran into the first time but not 16. And even if the vipar did put out 600 watts, it would cost the same to run as a 600 hid, a watt is a watt. If you want to grow a cheap pound get a hid or else spend the money on legit high powered led, you aren't going to pull a pound with any $300 led

Do searches for whatever light you are looking at, dont take anybodys word for it, find a couple journals with 1 pound grows and see what they use, if you cant find journals that show the light pulling a pound that will tell you everything you need to know, a pound is a lot of bud with led and isnt going to come cheap. Greengeenes apache 600 will do it but thats $2000 and a far cry from the $300 you were talking about. Best advice I can offer is lower your expectations, a pound isnt hard to grow but it takes a lot of time to learn how to do it. If you want to go led and only want to spend a few hun and thes guys are saying the vipars are decent then get one and see what it will do, if you get 4-5 ozs off 1 then you need 3 more, gotta crawl before you can run. Aero is great after you get a routine but its easy to fuck up when you are learning on the fly. Hempys are as easy as it gets, dwc is also pretty simple, the more parts in your system the more possible problems you could have .
 
The education you seek is found by reading through the various LED DIY threads. I don't understand them 100%, maybe 70%, but it's the broad brush concepts that will help you realize the 2 lights you inquired about are not worthy of your hard earned $$$

Hydro is only problematic if the grower doesn't first learn the basic parameters that must be maintained. It's not rocket science, but it is sensitive

Ive done a few successful bubbleponic grows and i would be comfortable doing aeroponics. am noob to aeroponics and i know i will come across some issues doing this the first time but am ok with that.. I will do some more research on leds to find something suitable as well as increase my funding somehow..

It may help you decide whether aero is any better than bubbleponics, when it's done right.

Here is my grow using a 300 watt ( 192 true watt) after 2 months veg and one week flower. bought it off ebay for $146 , they are now about 10 bucks cheaper. It is a ten bands for the spectrum. Not sure if this helps any, but i would say it is kicking some ass for 192 watts
