DIY Reservoir cooler.

I am built a reservoir cooler. I am used side by side Freezer and I have a 5 gallon bucket at the bottom with the copper coil submerged in ice, plumbed up to the transmission cooler with a box fan blowing through it. There is also a 5 gallon reservoir of non toxic antifreeze with an 800 gph pump. It is plumbed to the reservoir with insulated rubber hose. Once it reaches the system DWC reservoir it has the stainless steel wort chiller that is submerged in the nutes. My system has 150 gallons of water and was running a temp of around 83 degrees. After I added the cooler it dropped everything to 68 degrees. I has been 3 weeks since I installed it. It seems to work great.

It looks good and functional - but how much did this cost in total? Also, do you have any idea of the energy usage (in kWh?) with it being on constantly?

I already had the freezer and it was always on already so other then that just the waster pump and the fan. So far it has functioned perfectly. It keeps my 150 gallon system at 68 degrees I had to add a thermostat relay back to the pump power supply because it was drawing the water down to the low 60's. So now the pump kicks on at 70 degrees and off at 67 degrees. Here are a couple of pics from the reservoir. I have around $275 into the copper and stainless steel, heat exchanger fan, pump and all the little fittings, I already had a lot of the stuff I used in my "junk" collection. I have two more heat exchangers out of a portable ac unit I might plumb In and force air through to make it even more efficient. I check the coolant leaving the freezer and it was 17 degrees Fahrenheit. I think if I added the other two heat exchangers I could get it down to around 8-11 degrees. The stainless submersion chiller wort is pretty damn cold if I turn the pumps in my reservoir off and let it sit I think it could actually freeze the reservoir.

Seriously!!!!!!! Will you just stop... oh wait you are not going to because you are an idiotic spammer who in real life is probably making a fool of himself.

I started a thread about the same thing (sort of) seems interesting. How long did it take you to put everything together
