"I experimented with one liter and 4 liter APs, I would say benefits of larger are negligible" - Those 1 L APs are tiny. If they work the same, they should saturate with nuts much easier / quicker than the larger ones. 1 liter Dimensions 6" high x 4.75" Outside Diameter (4" base), compared to the 1 gallon sizing 9" high by 6" diameter. I'm going to try the 1 L Air Pots.
Any opinion on the less expensive "Root Routing Pot, 1 gallon Air Pruning Potting Container Nursery Pot" or the fabric pots air pots?

Keep in mind I use a combination of large/medium ornamental rock that I buy at the Dollar Store

All i seek is to get the nutes flowing throughout then quickly draining back to rez.


As to price, well they are 100% reusable for years

I tried to get sheets of Floradrain last month so I can make my own air-pots but came to the conclusion that it would just be cheaper buying from an American at 15.00 for a 5liter, But I also have a hard time giving an American my Canadian money lol.
A Lot of bud there, Would like to see some close up's because to me they look very air'y and leaf'y but maybe thats the way they are. But still very nice setup and grow.

Thx for the info, that makes sense. Ya I got some NYC Diesel going right now because I need some good wake and bake and not couchlock knock yourself out in a few hrs kush that I keep growing lol.

I want to know where you got the giant tinkertoy frame! That could be very useful in a small to large grow in any medium.
Hydro looks interesting but you certainly do a lot of work just making adjustments. I am too lazy for that!

The cube is part of a children's kit (frame to make a tent) I bought at Bed Bath & Beyond during the holidays. Only one store carried it in the 'area'. I had to drive 30 miles one way

I've started putting together my 'grow table' using the 1L AP's - Looking for a better idea for what to set each air pot in to catch the drain to send it back to the reservoir, while providing structure to stabilize the AP bottom. I thought about 6" or 8" end pvc pipe endcaps, but those are very expensive compared to just buying and cutting off the bottoms of 5 gallon buckets. Another idea was to cut 5 inch fence posts in half (lengthwize) to make channels to carry the runoff back, but those are almost too narrow.

Depending on how large/small your table is, buy an appropriately sized storage tote. Drill a ~ 1/2" hole in one corner and position the lid so that nutes drain to that spot. Here's the trick, most lids do not have a high lip (a yellow lid that I used in my led tent does), so you need to control the on time so that nutes don't overflow the lip. A larger hole will help control this

Stabilizing a 1 liter AP is not easy, which is why I went to the 4 liter, plus, the Hydro Halo Drip rings are >4", too big for 1 liter APs

Net pot lids fir the 4 liter, but the opening is too small for the HH rings

Using the Cube will help as you simply tie the branches to it

Hey PetFlora, loving you posts/string here. I also use the Air Pots. Forgot what size I am up to. But they are expensive! The smaller ones are totally reasonable but this last size (I think?) I bought was quite pricey for "a pot". But they seem relatively fool proof. It seems no matter what the cost, I will be ahead vs. the street in the end.

Well, gotta go now. Magic Mike DVD is just starting. Duty, for beefcake, calls!! Hah! Yes, chick here!

I also use the drip system, not misted. What is your water source? Tap? I think you pump from a reservoir so at a minimum the water airs out Chlorine. Haven't read all the posts here, too "distracted" with wine etc right now. How about Mg and Ca in the water? I'm concerned I have lock out from using tap water that hasn't gone through reverse osmosis. Thoughts?

Time for an update

The last grow turned out great. Med-Man Silver Skunk Bx1 + BML SPYDR 600 led + High Performance Rez 2.0
Amazing what happens when a high performance nutrient delivery system is combined with excellent lighting

Rez adjustments included using 250 gph pump recir 24/7 cascading nutes over a container with polished ornamental rocks.

I wanted the recirculating nutes to splash into the rez, but did not pull that off. This time I will be using a dollar store dust pan filled with rock positioned high enough to create a ~ 10" water fall. Similar to fish tank water falls, which are $$$$$ and don't fit on my Coleman cooler rez tank

Just bought a 450 pump in case I need more flow to create more splash. The idea being to replicate flooming of a fast moving river, known to create positive Chi

And finally I bought 2 more large nuts to space the large magnets farther apart in hopes/expectation of creating a wider energy field for the recir nutes to pass through on their way to the water fall

Think I'm crazy? Ha, you should have followed my hpa trials and tribulations

Also expecting to be testing new led panels. Thinking to do a side-by-side v the SPYDR, so 2 tents to be ordered

will pop seeds in mid August

I think building a pvc cage would be cheaper alot less flashy
But cheaper to say the least!
